How I Met Your Mother

I dont know how Ted kept his composure. I would have been seriously pissed at Lilly, like, dont know if I could still be friends with her pissed. That was waaaaaaaaaaay out of line.

Well it did go down like that though. Remember the end of the episode, Ted wasn't speaking to Lily until she fixed things and even then wary until he realized Lily was right and she was. Obviously Laura Pepron's character wasn't right for him and Robin and Ted have two very different life paths set for each other and wouldn't work. Robin and Ted even knew this the entire time they were dating that they weren't right for each other, Lily just got them to admit it. Notice how she said she did nothing to sabotage his relationship with Victoria and Stella, although I could even see her sabotaging his relationship with Stella since it was too rushed.

That said, loved the side story of the pajamas and Robin's show, perfectly placed within the episode to not overpower the dramatic bits, just inject a little laughter when it was needed. Also, any show that can include a Big Lebowski refenece is a winner for me.

I really, really hope Ted and Robin don't get back together. That pact at the end of the episode had me worried.

Its not just her getting rid of Laura Prepon. Thats one girl. Lilly had been playing god with his relationships since college. Who knows how many girls Ted genuinely liked that she personally decided didnt fit her porch vision and got rid of. I mean, that is seriously ****ed up. Who does she think she is?

And forget the actual relationships and what they could have meant to Ted, what Lilly did was the mark of an unbelievably selfish and self-absorbed person. I dont know if I could be friends with someone that could actually do something like with such purely self-indulgent motivations.

They cut a line apparently where Narrator Ted said that neither of them actually needed that pact.

Well, we know that much because we know Robin's not the mom. But I'm saying I hope they don't get back together at all. I don't want them to be constantly running in circles, f***ing each other one minute and then friends the next every single season.

They can't... unless the writers want Ted to be a huge f--king *****e. Didn't he tell Barney that he wasn't going to do that anymore because he found out that he liked Robin?

He didn't tell Barney directly, but he did break off the f***-buddies setup he and Robin had going on because he realized Barney had feelings for her. Narrator-Ted says Lily was right when she said that when friends have sex, someone always gets hurt--it's just not always one of the two people having sex.

So unless the writers want to make a complete ass out of the main character in the fourth/fifth season of the show and make it look like he isn't growing up when this whole show is about how be became the man that met the mother... no more Robin/Ted hookups are going to happen.

Fingers crossed.

Anyway, I know nobody else has the advantage of just having seen all of the episodes, but... favorite episodes?

Mine is without a doubt "Slap Bet." I'm pretty sure that's where the show peaked. It'll take something jaw-droppingly spectacular to top that.

General Spoilers:

* new 03/14 - We'll finally get to see a real relationship between [Barney and Robin] very soon, and it's already on paper! Carter spills: "We've written the dramatic climax of the story, and now we're going back and writing toward it. I'm very excited to eventually get there, but it's also a lot of fun figuring out how to slowly maneuver these characters closer and closer toward the inevitable." [...] "The last few episodes will address the title of the show," Carter teases. "We will be picking up some storylines that may have been dormant for a while, and one of those is Ted's romantic life and his search for the woman who is eventually the mother of his kids." One of the clues that will pop back up is the mysterious yellow umbrella, which Carter says, "will continue to be a part of the show." Just to set the record straight, despite rumors that Barney has actually been telling the story this whole time, Bays confirms, "The narrator is Ted-he's grown up." [...] "There's going to be a shift in setting to some degree," Carter reveals of next season. "There's going to be kind of a new world that some of the characters enter, and it'll bring us closer to meeting the mom. It'll also provide sort of a new dynamic for a couple of the characters." * 03/06 - Something major is going to happen with [Barney and Robin] in the season finale. I know this because executive producer
Carter Bays told me so. "That is one of the stories that we sort of have been teasing out over the course of the season," he says. "And it definitely comes to a head in the finale." [...] "At the end of the season, we will address the title of our show," reveals Bays, adding that the last four episodes will feature "big events in the lives of our characters -- specifically Ted. We're going to wrap up some things that have been left dangling." Translation: I think the M-bomb's about to be dropped! Source: The Ausiello Files

* 01/28 - [Craig] Thomas warned, "We've shot the season finale, and the goat does appear." Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Oh snap, the goat. I almost forgot that it has to make its long-awaited appearance this season for Ted's 31st. :)

So the season finale will be Ted's 31st?

LOL.

I really wanted to know what an Old Clancy was. :(

Ted: I just got screwed by two of my best friends and didn't even realize it!

Lily: In Canada that's called a sneaky snowplow.

:lmao:

Canadian Sex Acts is the greatest web site ever

Also, I love when they make fun of Robin's Canadian-ness.

"Why do we even let you be a country!?!"

On a downside, this is the 4th of the 5 main characters to be unemployed. It seems like any time one gets fired, the next one is right behind. I hope Barney isn't next. His job is too damn funny.

Marshall: I'm pretty sure if you don't fulfill this contract, we'll be at war with Portugal.

Barneys job is awesome. Whenever anyone asks what he does, he just goes "hehnyeh, please.."

But, according to the writers/producers/whoever's in charge, he's the "stand-in VP" of the company he works at and makes a 6 figure income a year. Holy hell.

Barney's job is indeed awesome.

Lily: Maybe you're not as good of a liar as you think.

Barney: Please, if that were the case, I'd be in prison for perjury...but I don't want to talk about work.

I can't believe no one's brought up Marshall's stand-up routine yet. "Sturgeon. I don't think so, pal." :D

His stand up was maybe the most random thing I;ve seen in a long time.

My two favourite jokes ever in this show are

[In the episode that Ted and Barney pretend to be international busiessmen and get arrested in Philly]

Random Guy: I work with the Liberty Bell
Barney: Do you ever sneak in and touch it?
Random Guy: Only all the time.

[From the episode where Lilly and Marshal decide to get married in Alanta]

*The gang come and get Robin to go with them*

Robin: I can't go. I have to read the news.
Producer: Go. We can get Larry to cover for you. You can read can't you Larry?
*Cut to the laziest looking man ever. Leaning over the camera with a massive sandwich. He goes to take a bite, pauses*
Larry: I'm only the best at it.
*Takes a bite of the sandwich*

hahahaha

best show EVER

ep is a classic already and its 3 mins in

"There is a Teen Wolf on the court!! That can't be legal!!"
