I was wondering this today. Can somebody please tell me how long Superman will naturally live? I once heard someone say he is forever 30.

It's hard to tell. Different writers have done it different ways. One thing that seems to be a trend though is the older he gets, the slower he ages. The more sunlight he absorbs, he becomes more powerful and his age begins to slow. Kingdom Come and Batman Beyond(JLU episode) show Superman growing older, but not nearly as old as everyone else. While others are in their 80s like Batman, Superman only has some graying hairs and is still insanely powerful(possibly even more powerful). Others think he might be immortal. I don't know if it's ever been fully addressed though.

EVERYTHING YOU JUST SAID IS CORRECT! :brucebat:

I remember from something that he could possibley live thousands of years.

I'll go with living for a thousand of years.

He was born in 1938 so that makes him 70. Happy Birthday Superman.

without sounding to geeky, no kryptonian has ever been allowed to mature and age under a yellow sun. there is no precedence for something like this. If the sun's radiation continues to feed him, and keep his cells regenerating he could last until our sun fades and dies. or until sales decline.

It is unknown, and is all up to interpretation. 'Nuff said.

this question is clearly dependant on the whether there will be a source of yellow sun radiation for him

ultimately if he eats right and works out, he could live for a few hundred thousand years, if not a few billion

especially if he just stayed at the centre of the sun and didn't do much.

if he was on kypton, he probably would live to about the equivalent to a normal human.

Has there ever been a solo Superman story told in the future, where every he loved is gone and most of the villians as well? Kind of like Superman Beyond. I would buy it.

Last part is pretty funny. Kudos!

How long is Superman's natural life?

These days? One movie, apparently.

I love the way you stated 'if he eats right and works out' as if it's all that's needed for natural longevity. It cracked me up. You must be based in LA. ! :hehe:

Cute. :p

And as for Superman's natural life. It depend on the story. I know he was still younger than Bat in term of living & still fighting in a 2 episode on Batman Beyond. Same thing for Kingdom Come too.

I think I read a Superman story as a kid where he got old and after everyone he knew was dead he eventually moved to the sun. Can't for the life of me remember though, as I said I was a kid.

The thing about batman beyond is that batman is older than supes anywho since he started his crime fighting days alot earlier.

bats was already well established before superman ever came to the scene.

keeping fit is very important, I would go as far as to make it a national law if i could.

Being healthy shouldn't be a lifechoice, it should be a national necessity and who not to showcase this more than a superhero (fictionally speaking).

Superman's fuel is the sun, so he is rather a different animal to the rest of us.

Longevity is influenced by far more than visits to the gym or diet. Genetics for a start. And intelligence - which ensures good decisions to avoid risks to life and health.

And those in Hollywood who still look good at a ripe old age (Joan Collins, Elizabeth Taylor) are relying on far more than fitness and nutrition - wigs, make-up and cosmetic surgery!

meh, exercise and nurition pwns all...

It won't make everyone look the same but certainly will help keep people in their peak physical forms for longer durations than if neglected.

as for supes, if another fat kryptonian ended up on earth, he would end up being stronger than them based on his physique, how much so is questionable but still...

Their was a Generations Elseworld a few years ago (I believe) where it showed Superman 1000's of years from now. Batman (Bruce) was still alive also (using the Lazarus Pits) and I believe Supes was with Wonder Woman. I have to go back and read it again.

Um, national law to control our physical health? . . . Dictator much?
