just curious.

So far even though they have made lots of changes, i like what they've done with each villian.

Ra's Al Gul is bruce wayne's mentor. We know batman was trained in Japan in martial arts, but having Ra's Al Gul in disguise and having a decoy was brillaint.

Making scarecrow a younger man than an older person was a good idea.

Making Harvey Dent a rival suitor for rachel dawes instead of bruce's old college buddy was a good idea.

even though they change HOW he became two face, the spirit of the what two face was about was there. and he was a bad guy vigilante, not a criminal.

Giving Joker a scar smile was a nice twist too. very scary. well done.he stole the show.

so pretty much what aspects will they borrow from this comic?

have a listen, this is an audio book of knightfall and here is a review of the comic

will bane break into arkham and set criminals free? will he actually get into wayne manor.

For all we know, it could be nothing like the events of Knightfall.

As much as he used TLH for TDK

Which isn't very much, just a general structure (if that) , specifics seem to come from his own mind.

I doubt much will be the same. Maybe some small things, like a prison break out, but the story is going to be different. I just want to see a fight scene in the Batcave. Please Nolan, pleeeease! :woot:

if you take a listen, this is the audio book where bane confronts batman in wayne manor and hurts him.

its interesting to hear how bane sounds when he talks about his motivation.

i think changing bane into one of Ra's Al Gul's students like the rumors are saying and making him batman's rival but just evil is good.
they're saying that bane is a student of the league the way bruce was. and that ra's and the league found bane when he was a child or something.

i'm just trying to imagine tom doing a south american accent. would it sound better if tom with his natural accent like in Bronson?

in a way that would work better. ra's al gul wanted bruce to rule gotham by his side as they tore it apart. so bane could be the one who wants what r'as wants.

its gonna be really good.

i have a feeling this is how it will happen.

bane sets all the prisoners of arkham free to tire him out, the real goathm city police are after batman, he confronts catwoman. she is a burglar but somehow they form a relationship.

bane gets into wayne manor, breaks batman and hurts alfred. selena kyle helps bruce recover from the injury and maybe he helps bruce take a dip in the lazarus pits to heal his back?

and then he confronts bane with a more upgraded batsuit and he takes bane down. that would be cool.

One thing that won't be used is a mass villain break out at Arkham to physically wear Batman down. Batman has not racked up enough of a rogues gallery for that. There's only really Joker and Scarecrow in there.

that is a good point. it sucks that heath died. i mean he really could have had a cameo role in this movie. and that would have been grounds for a arkham escape.

but then again, in batman begins the league of shadows sets open the prisoners type of thing already. so that would not work actually. i think the fact the police are after batman and he is on the run.

but at the least, i hope bane infiltrates wayne manor and confronts him in the batcave and throws him off a roof the way he does in the comic, infront of all of gotham. that would be cool.

In a way, it's a shame Nolan is using Bane for this story; the entire Knightfall arc, from Sword of Azrael through KnightsEnd would've made for a great, great Batman film if adapted somewhat closely!

Still, to get the character in a Nolan-film that features Catwoman and the return of Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul is super, super cool...and will likely explain how Bruce heals his back, which is excellent in my opinion.

I'd like to think that someday WB will produce an animated adaptation of Knightfall, similarly to what they did with Superman/Doomsday...I just hope they don't butcher it like that.

What would be sweet is if they did it all in motion capture, and applied Avatar-style CGI and animation to the entire thing!

A little bit of KF
A little bit of birth of the demon

Maybe some Prey elements

Neeson still isn't really confirmed. We have multiple one-person accounts at different locations. And be careful mentioning the Lazarus Pit...it's on the list of reaction words.

Not much you can change about Bane. Much simpler than either Joker and Scarecrow

Bane's voice in that audiobook is wack.

As far as adapting Knightfall, Bane breaking into the manor should definitely be in.

Beating the hell out of Bruce who is tired physically and mentally. The whole time Bane is calmly lecturing on him on why he is smarter, faster, and stronger. It could be a powerful scene.

Those rare moments when someone actually outsmarts Bruce are gold.

Breaking out the Arkham inmates shouldn't be in, but I think the GPD will serve the same purpose. I imagine Bruce will be exhausted from being hunted by the entire city of Gotham.

I'd love to see two fights between Batman and Bane:

One in the Manor (or in the cave) where Bane beats Batman. No broken back because that makes no sense in a two-and-a-half hour movie.

And later a revenge in a rainy Gotham City while the police and lots of random people are watching. Though it's not Azbat in the movie this Batman beats Bane and sends him to Blackgate.

Well we know Nolan has at least read it. same with Jonah and Goyer and Bale and Hardy. That much we know almost for sure.

Nolan likes to take small bits and pieces from different stories when they relate to characters in HIS original story and add them/adapt them/change them slightly.

He's never taken whole chunks of things from any one source really. Using characters or ideas from these stories and molding and shaping them to fit his story.

In conclusion? Not much at all really. Bits and pieces here and there.

I think the most basic premise of the comic. Batman is injured, and needs to get back on his toes.

*Cue Rocky-esque Montage of Bruce training*

(One year later)

YEAH IM COMIN FOR YOUSE BANENANAS! SELINAAAA!

well this is what i think will happen. liam neeson will return and use the lazarus pit and will de-age him,

after batman is broken by bane we need to see bane throw him off a roof. just like in the comic.

once we realize that happens bruce wants to give up being batman and his fight against crime is over.

talia al gul or catwoman will help bruce get to the lazarus pit. this will be good because it will speed up his recovery and batman and bane can have a rematch at the end.

but bruce once his back is healed he then can train and get back in shape at a remote location league of shadows style.

yeah. good points. im gonna read all three. we have to do something to tie us over while we wait.

alittle of all 3 and some original story by nolan and co., will work

I hope Nolan has an original idea instead.

I don't think it will follow the Knightfall storyline very much, honestly. I'd be surprised if it does, because Nolan likes making an overall story his own.

I definitely think there will be elements of Knightfall, birth of the demon and even a little of the long halloween still.

If Bane sets all the prisoners free that means more of Nolans bad action fight sequences.

I think they should use all the volumes of the TPB for the movie so that Bane can stand on them so he is tall enough to talk to batman.

After Inception, I would expect many to eat those words.

However, I believe they might use a great deal of Knightfall; especially the prologue story Vengeance of Bane, if they go about on his origins and creation. And with the possibility of Ra's Al Ghul as well, if he's come back to life that is, we might get a taste of Bane of the Demon, Legacy, and a hint of No Man's Land.
