How Much Should Fox Spend On The Sequel ?

Which is good IMO for a great action+sfx movie with no big name stars.

hell I ROBOT had will smith BUT the movie costed only $120 million to make and it was awesome in action+sfx.

A budget of $150 million would probably be a bare minimum for this film. Silver Surfer is CGI, Torch is CGI, The Watcher will have to be partly CGI, Galactus (Maybe partialy, but they'd better not tinker with with outfit, since the movie would probably lose all credibility) will have to be CGI. So...there are ALOT of shops out there doing good work in the CGI field, but WETA and ILM will cost ya...With the name recognition, and a smart trailer and marketing campiagn, it's possible to deliver X2 type numbers, and that's probably what FOX is shooting for.

Credibility with who? the mainstream audience?

I think the CGI is the least or our worries at this point...

I'd say 130 million is enough for a good film and allows for a tidy profit as well. you know, if they gave these films a bit more development time, they could keep costs down. X3 had no business costing so much.
