Because of Countdown, and a few Minis that have being going on, I've found myself spending about 30-40 bucks.

However, what I predict after Final Crisis? Probably knocked down to about 15-20 bucks.

what really sucks about buying so many monthlies is that I barely get to snatch up any new trades

I don't buy comics at all. I spend my collecting funds on TPB's, HC's, and Comic statues. I spend about $300 a month at least.

At least $300 a month on collectibles. Is that a lot for you? I could afford to do something like that, but then I'd really have to curtail my spending and saving in other areas. Storage would become a problem, as well.

Well sometimes its more...but usually its around 300$. I usually get about 10-15 tpbs/hc's and one or two Bowen statues a month. I have two huge bookcases, one for Marvel, and one for DC, and then 3 IKEA display cases with Bowen and Batman Black/White statues.

I see how it could seem excessive, but I have no wife or kids, or anything like that to drain my money, and I love comic related things, so I put money into what makes me happy.

Well, I don't think it's excessive. I think it's exciting. I'm also single with no kids, and no debt. I could afford to spend that kind of money on collectibles, but it would take a significant chunk out of my paycheck, that's all.

I'd say so far I've spend a good $700 on comicbooks, its disgraceful.

I need to start waiting until a series is FINISHED, and THEN buy the set for about $50 less. But I'm impatient.

I used to go crazy and would spend a few hundred dollars every month on comics and related merchandise. Now I probably only spend $20-$30 a week.

Now I just wait for certain TPBs but a couple of years ago, I was spending in excess of 200 bucks a month on comics.

Why did you change your buying habits?

Well gas prices escalating for one with the 25 mile hike I do to and from my workplace. My spouse was temporarily out of work so I had to take up slack, etc.

I really had it bad with the comics; it was more of an addiction for me. I've calmed down considerably but not altogether. I still have piles lying around my studio/gameroom that should be put in something..

What can I say? I love comics alot. :word:

I've gotten it down to two or three a week, with the occasional trade here and there. I picked the $30-$40 option.

Wow. You're going to find a lot of people who spend way more than $50 a month on comics.

I buy roughly 5 comics per week. At maybe $2.99 each (let's round that to $3) that's $15 per week. With four Wednesdays in a month, that's $60 per month. $60 for reading only 5 comics per week.

You'd have to read an average of 4 titles per week to spend $48 per month. Let's check March 5th's Diamond List thread...

I get the distinct impression there are very few of us who spend less than $50 each month on comics.

For me, I spend about 500 to 1,000+ a month :wow: while alot are statues and whatnot I do buy a ton of books too :woot:

It's hard for me to say. I used to buy more often..but now I only really buy for birthdays and Christmas. The poll is too simple.

They log how much you spend at midtown comics, the other day I went in to ask and in the past two years so far I have spent over $1200

i usually only by tpb's & get one or two or three about every 6 months...

so about $45-$50 every 6 months

ROUGHLY $100 a year

No more than $100 a year, but some years it could be less than that depending on what trades came out

So, you had an unhealthy obsession with collecting comics, and you got it under control because you basically had to? Good for you, man. Maybe we should start a support group, or something. :o
I developed a coke habit
Okay...

So, you only buy comics once in awhile. Choose one of the lower options. The poll isn't meant to be scientific.

Well comics are still kind of an unhealthy obessession for me...but family comes first as it should. :yay:

i'm that way too... collecting obsessivly... i mean i'm unemployed, but in college so i live off of grants & school loans & am almost dirt poor... i still collect if i get like borders or B&N gift cards and stuff... sometimes i even put some of my money into it, IF THERE'S SOMETHING I WANT REALLY BAD... but as for right now, all i collect are batman, daredevil, a few hardcover shadow books i have & soon i will have old Green Hornet comics
