We have a Superman. We have a Lois. Lex is coming, so if there were to be a spin off how could it work?

How could it stand out from other Superman shows, should it be straight out Superman or slightly different?

How many episodes? Mini or full series?

Should Jimmy appear as a guest or regular, should others from Supergirl appear?

Who should be cast as Jor-El (flashbacks) , Perry etc??

So many questions!

If they do then they'll be 'starting' with a Superman who is already mature and has dealt already with a lot of his Rogues. And I'm alright with that. We've seen iterations of him in his youth in 'Smallville' and growing up and teaming up with Lois in 'Lois and Clark.' A new series should pick up right from here with his appearances in Supergirl and the crossovers, introducing new villains, either those created for the show specifically and/or using those from the more recent comics. I know the recent comics deal with a 'different' Superman as the previous had died just after Rebirth(?) But there's no reason they couldn't use elements of it and create something new.

I'd go for a full series, though content over quantity would be preferred. And I would like a fair amount of crossover between Supergirl and Superman. Not every ep of course, but show that it is not insular and a part of a bigger world

I like this, going by Supergirl he's been Superman for at least a decade now (?) so many restarts of familiar franchises tend to go back to the beginning! No more origins!

Being a superman that takes time is an advantage to not retell things that everyone knows, should look at the dynamics that they had in the series Lois and Clark and thus give prominence to it too but with more superheroic action, should be a series more mature than supergirl, for villains there is no problem there are modern villains and many old ones that have not yet gone superman takes a lot of time in the comic there is to choose even, some flashback of the past in some story with Lex so that we see how it broke and aprobecharia so that in those flashbacks would bring the classic suit with pants to make a tribute to the most classic fans, Jor-el cogeria Tom Welling or some of the superman known universe ...

Most Superman projects, whether in film, television, or animation, usually start with his origin. I'd say start with a very brief overview of his career from origin to his exploits as Superman.

This show could have some totally different dynamics to Supergirl and other Arrowverse shows. For starters Lois & Clark are already a solidified couple so they don't need to play the will they won't they card. I'd definitely take some inspiration from the Lois & Clark series with the two working together at the Daily Planet. I'd also love it if they lived on the Kent farm and they commuted to Metropolis.

Hopefully the show happens, I think they'd be stupid to not do something.

I don’t think he has the gravitas for Jor-El to be honest.

Perhaps but he did play a younger version of him in Smallville.

latest

I disagree I think Welling’s very underrated. When he played Lionel, Jor El in flashbacks, Red K Clark, Ultraman, Clark infected by magic etc. The guys got way more range than he gets credit for.

I think he has more credits than he has the range for. :o

I’ve seen almost every season of SV. Unless he’s improved dramatically since it ended, I imagine him being a very lackluster Jor-El.

Guess we will just have to agree to disagree then

I was worried Welling would be too young for Jor-El but thinking about it he might be OK for it now? Maybe if he grew a bit of a beard?

Have we had a former Clark play the part before him? If not I'm surprised!

Marlon Brando as Jor-El. He played the part of Clark in his dreams. :o

I wouldn't mind Welling cast in a "legacy" role as Jor-El.

I mean...that’s cool and all, but I was ready to argue for at least another half a page. :o

They should give it to ****ing Cavill. :funny:

Haha of course we could have done the whole your opinion is wrong, mine is wrong back and forth but how fun would that have been... damn we should have. :funny:

I think it would be a bit much to have both on the CW.
If it were to happen, I think it would be best to put Superman on DC universe

Tom Welling for Bizarro. It's not like the comic version looks like an exact copy of Superman at all. Or Cavill for Bizarro. He would have the right build since Bizarro is much bigger than Superman.

I’d rather we just have no Tom Welling, tbh. He’s never been a good actor, IMO.

Well, I said this in the episode thread, but based on this latest development, I think a Superman Rebirth-inspired series could totally be on the table now. Assuming it doesn't go into development 'til next year or maybe for after Arrow's done, you can start with Superman and Lois raising their young son in relative obscurity (after Crisis) and go from there.
