How should Galactus look?

Ok well this is just a quick sketch i did on my concept of Galactus. I'm not finished, i'll probably finish it later and color it or something. But right now i have to go. :p :D

^yeah, I was going to post the same thing. nice work gambitfire.

Thanks DN I remember his name is Gal lak tus or something like that.

You'd think that more people would have that Wizard issue by now. If someone who has it could, please post what was said about Galactus. I don't want to buy a whole magazine just to read about one thing.

Though I feel going with this Galactus is an incredibly bad move, I will try to keep an open mind about it (though I can already tell I will not be pleased with this version on screen). I am not surprised at all by it, but I was hoping Story would prove me wrong.

EDIT: One of my friends actually bought a copy of it, so he read me what was in there about Galactus. Looks like this will be wrapped up in one film all. It says there are moments in the movie inspired by Ultimate Extinction. I wonder what moments he is talking about.

So there you have it. Galactus is a force, and the whole saga will be wrapped up in one film. I expected as much.

...Well that...sucks. :(

Doesn't it?

I think FOX is not only hurting the FF franchise with this move. This hurts the SS spin-off series too. We will be stuck with this Galactus there too. FOX is again making unnecessary changes to a great another character, and cheaponing him. I hope this Galactus doesn't suck as bad as I think he will, but I doubt that will happen. Now, I feel the less we see of Gah Lak Tus (I refuse to use the INO thing) in this movie, the better.

TIM STORY IS A KNUCKLEHEAD!! :cmad: :cmad:
HE WANTS TO SCREW THE STANDARD FOR SOMETHING ELSE!! HE WANTS TO SHOW HIM AS A FORCE....LIKE IN ULTIMATE EXTINCTION!!

What is up with this guy????

this is an overstatement. the Wizard interview is with Don Payne, not Story, and the quote is:

Now the question on everyone's minds is of course, what the hungry, world-devouring master will look like when he arrives on screen on June 15, 2007. Screenwriter Don Payne is coy, but he's quick to point out "the story definitely focuses more on the Silver Surfer -- otherwise it would be called 'Rise of the Silver Surfer and Galactus,'" he laughs. However, further prodding reveals the purple planet eater, who sends his herald to seek out worlds suitable for him to consume, may not actually be explored as a character, but more as a "force."
"As far as Galactus goes, the essence will be the same," Payne maintains, describing the entity as an amalgam of concepts combined with the original "Coming of Galactus" story from Fantastic Four #48. "We're also using elements from Fantastic Four #57-60, where the Silver Surfer encounters Dr. Doom," Payne says. "Then there are a couple moments that were inspired by Ultimate Extinction."

IMO, we'll get the classic looking Galactus, but he'll be nothing more than a threat looming overhead during the movie who we only see near the end. i also think we'll see him defeated in the Ultimate Extinction manner rather than with the 616 style Ultimate Nullifier, because that's just too "out there" for these movies (and kind of a deus ex machina, if you ask me).

people are bound to be disappointed by this movie if they expect to see a lot of Galactus. he simply will not be focused on in this movie or in any FF sequels. every interview with cast or crew has talked about FF3 as a possibility rather than as FF: ROTSS Part II, and even in this Wizard interview Payne talks about FF3 maybe focusing on Annihilus or Skrulls or the Inhumans. if we ever see a lot of Galactus in a film it'll be in a Silver Surfer spin-off.

and by the way, i see no reason why the Galactus storyline couldn't be wrapped up in one movie. it was 3 issues in the comics (6 if you count the Dr. Doom stuff), and we've already established all of the four's characters enough that the focus can be strictly on SS and Galactus. a 90-120 minute movie can cover that much material fine i think.

I don't think Gah Lak Tus will be in the movie until the near end either, but by the description he is giving there, it says more Ultimate than 616. He uses Ultimate Extinction and "force" in one right after the other. This tells me we are not getting a classic Galactus.

Also, I was never against it being one film. In fact, I think one film is the way to go. Thinking about it now, two films with this story might be stretching it, like Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions. It doesn't need to be two movies to be epic.

Yes they have, but not only did alot of ppl feel it wasn't done properly but they still remain the main characters, and the Heroes of the movie. Therefore focus should not be lost on them for the sake of 2 more characters. It's like a law of story telling. :p

I think dope nose's idea is a good concept except it should be more like this...
matrix6.jpg

A whole bunch of smaller robots, that form a human face. It gives it a very unhuman look and seems freakishly scary in my opinion. Btw, this was taken from the Matrix
Im not saying I dont like the original...but if the film makers are looking for something different I guess I wouldn't mind that concept

I like the sounds of where this might be going.

It does seem a little silly that Galactus would plop down in Times Square and stand on a planet that he's about to destroy.

The robot things (and I didn't read it, so I'm not familiar with the details) from the ultimate series, could be the tools he uses to eat a planet (rather than his big ray device).

And even though the FF could never defeat Galactus, they may be able to find a way to stop his robots and make Galactus' meal more trouble than it's worth.

It opens up some interesting possibilities.

Story is in charge of this project! Payne is the screen wrtiter. This whacked out idea is obviously okayed by Story! It's the same thing.
