How should Martin Campbell handle "Green Lantern"?

Martin Campbell, the director chosen by Warner Bros to conduct Green Lantern, has never made a superhero movie per se, but he handled four movies of two big heroes without Superpowers: James Bond and Zorro. For Bond, Campbell did GoldenEye and Casino Royale. For Zorro, Campbell did The Mask of Zorro and The legend of Zorro.

If you had to chosen one of those movies as the parameter of how Campbell should handle Green Lantern, which would you choose and why?

i would go with mask of zorro/casino royale type of look/feel.

I went with Goldeneye, that was a action packed movie with a great story to it.

Casino Royale with The Mask of Zorro.

Zorro had this great sense of humor but that could of been because of the great script.

But I don't care, Campbell is a great choice and a solid director all around.

CR. That had enough humor in the right places but it also took itself seriously enough for us to get invested in the two main characters.

That's what GL should be about.

Campbell isn't a director that has much influence on a script. So judging from script reviews, I would expect something that strongly adheres to the source material. We'll probably see as much development of the character of GL as he did with Bond and Zorro.

Well, I think CB territory is new to him. I think he wants to be careful when you're adapting a comic book. Because it could very easily not work.

But it comes down to the direction he wants to take it that would steer the script in the direction he wants to.

The Diego de La Vega/Alejandro Murieta dynamic in The Mask of Zorro could fit with Hal and Sinestro, don't you think?

Maybe. But that dynamic was humorous. This is more serious. But no doubt Campbell can handle it.
