BvS How should Superman win the Peoples trust in the movie?

Maybe something like saving an entire cruise ship or aircraft carrier then, one with 3 or 4,000 people on it.
He lifts the entire thing as its sinking, and then sets it on dry land as tv cameras are rolling.
That would really show his strength and let the world know he's here to save lives.

Playing cynic, I can imagine some JJJ-esque journalist would suggest Superman is creating these situations to 'save people and make himself look good'.

Hell, maybe as public affection towards Superman turns positive, Lex Luthor designs a heat ray machine to simulate Superman's, uses it on that cruise ship and then after they assess/investigate the damages, use this as proof Superman is engineering his own image of a lifesaver.

Bugger, I hate Lex :D

He shouldn't have to win the trust of people. Realistically, people will always have mixed emotions towards Superman no matter what he does. Superman should just do what he feels is best in whatever situation regardless of what others think of him.

"Die" for them.

Think an amalgam of "Death of Superman" and "Whatever Happened To The Man of Tomorrow?"

Exactly. he should just "Keep on keepin'on". Eventually most people (except for the usual hardheads who just are really hateful people) will come around and realize he's the real deal.
And NO DYING!!!. That is one really lame idea.

...buying everyone a neck brace.

Letting people touch his \S/. !

Offering free international travel trips...with carry- on.

...allowing people to tug on his cape...

How hardheaded would it be to stay mad at the dude who messed up your home/limbs/family member's limbs/head just because he didn't wanna take the fight somewhere else. That's how a lot would see it. That's what sucks so much about it for me, that his haters have a point. It's hard to believe that this is an actual issue for the sequel to deal with: how does Superman make up for his screw ups in the first film? Lord.

It's a tricky line they have to walk. My suggestion would be compensate. Big time. Throw in as many scenes of caring, empathetic, cool Superman as you can. Nothing's gonna erase the controversies of MOS, but if they go out of their way to make up for it, they'll be better off. If it makes them seem apologetic, good.

Clark didn't really have a choice on where his fight with Zod would take place.

No director worth his salt should apologise for his work while working on the very same character.

And you'll see Snyder won't apologise for MOS. prepare to be disappointed.

WB won't want another MOS situation, and probably neither does he.

I would just show flashbacks of him repairing the destruction of mos events. If you were going to have life go on in mos how could you not show this?

I think Superman finally managing to win Batman over will (symbolically speaking) be the moment he finally starts winning over the majority of the humans still suspicious of him.

I think they might use Batman to sort of represent the skeptics in that respect. For once Bruce is able to get over his suspicions and see that Supes is a good guy, then the rest of the world will be able to see it too.

As to HOW he will manage to do this?

Maybe by proving that Lex is the one who is rotten? :hmm

There's no need to apologize for anything and that'd be a severe step in the wrong direction. There was a lot of destruction, because of Zod. He couldn't take the battle anywhere else because Zod was hell bent on killing as many humans as possible. Supes did what he had to and sure, may have been a little messy, but who can blame him? It was his first battle against an intergalactic threat. He still saved the damn planet.

They can address the destruction, sure. But trying to make up for it will make me despise BvS.

I say have the people still hate on Superman showing imagery of this:

for the whole film thus creating some sort of variation on the notion of a "never-ending battle". Then, when they bring in Doomsday(come on guys, no point denying they won't, the question is when now), people will embrace him after he dies as we as people don't know what we have until we lose it. There's your obligatory commentary on humanity as seen with DC movies lately.

I'm not afraid, I'm angry.

We need three things to make this film a success boys...
...defiance of authority, destruction of property, and nudity...
Hopefully not only Henerys this time...

And I'm not talking about Ben either!

...you had to take it there, didn't you?

...now I wont be able to sleep tonight....

I don't think you have to get all cute with it. I'd like to see Superman, maybe standing in the middle of a mob and he allows his critics just tear him apart left and right;shouting things at him. Being angry at him. Throwing out the most absurd and derogatory insults one at a time with powerful chatter behind it as he remains silent just listening. After getting drilled, simply have Supes look each and every citizen in the eye who cussed him out, smile and promise them that he will win them over and he is here to help. He goes on that he takes full responsibility by the way his critics view him and uses his charm to ask for the chance for him to try to change their minds of him as he flys away. This is followed by good deed after good deed from Superman throughout the movie with the public and doing some heroic things along the way, even the little stuff. Slowly but surely and by the end, people will cheer him and sing his name.

You nailed it buddy, but to be honest with you... I'm a little afraid of how Snyder will handle Superman's character. The guy can come up with great visuals but his characters lack depth. The only hope I have is because of Ben & Terrio's involvement within this movie and I hope to god they have a much better script than Man of Steel. One think I wana see is Superman finally speaking. Would love to hear a conversation between him and Lex going back and forth at each other.
