The Dark Knight Rises How should the Gotham mob be used in Batman 3?

What character do you want to take over the mob?

  • Black Mask

  • Penguin

  • The Great White Shark

  • Tobias Whale

  • The Ventriliquist and Scarface

  • Rupert Thorne

  • Tony Zucco

  • Maxie Zeus

  • King Snake

  • other (if so specify)

This might be irrelevant, and I might be alone here, but I never liked the writing in this part.

Or the ******ed pointy mutant nipples.

The mob being extinguished isn't realistic.

At all.

Criminals will always replace other criminals. It's an endless cycle. Some other, more dangerous, deadlier mob will replace the previous mob. The obvious logical progression is freaks involved with the crime in Gotham, now that The Joker flat out said "Gotham City deserves a better class of criminal".

The Mob should be desperate and weaker. After the Joker incident Gotham should be a gang warzone. Every other gang got ****ed over, and the mob no longer has the power it had Pre-TDK, coupled with the rise of Bane's new gang. Bane should "win" the gangwar and take over Crime in Gotham possibly with the help of dealing Venom. It'd show just how good a criminal mastermind he is.

Black Mask would be the Sal Maroni of TDKR, not a main villain but just there to show the mob still has a presence in Gotham. It'd go with the whole escalation thing, since now even the mob is led by a masked freak.

They should still be portrayed most defintely.

Like Throbberson and many more have mentioned we need to see the mob still have some presence over the city as weakened and fragile as it has become.

If the news of Hugo still being are true, him and Bane are going to wreak a lot of damage onto Gotham.

The mob will be used as a tool because thats what happens to them IRL anyways. Strange and Bane will play the **** out of them along with Bat's beating the crap out of them or said villains and I love seeing that in the Nolan Bat films.

What if the mob was weak but still has a presence its just trying to get its money back to what it was like in TDK and plus some of the major mob bosses have been killed, Gambol, Chechen and Maroni so there's a power vaccuum and also there aren't any middle men taking over because they're in prison cos of Dent so its either gotta be a lower profile mob boss taking over for the time being or someone from out of Gotham

i love this idea and since roman sionis and selina kyle/catwoman have always had their issues it would add more to the story and actually give blk mask a little purpose for this film as not only a mob boss or a foe to batman but also a foe to catwoman who stands in the middle between hero and villian

You know who'd be the best choice for a "Freak" mob boss?

Scarface.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a cameo.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt as ALBERTO FALCONE. A crossbreed between 'the mob' and 'the freaks'. I definitely want to see the remnants of the mob in TDKR - with a rise in the FREAK population that Bane tries to manipulate.

I agree, I think the story will take this route. But I also believe that the remaining 'typical' mob types, the Italian mafiosos will begin getting knocked off one-by-one a'la TLH. Then, people who have no clue what's the deal, will start accusing the likes of Batman, Catwoman, etc...

Nolan will lead the audience to believing it's JGL's Alberto who is the mastermind/murderer behind it all...but just as in Long Halloween- it will end up being Harvey Dent. Because I still don't believe he's truly dead and over with...why would Nolan ruin a huge twist in his final chapter by confirming he'll return in a third film anyways?

Well, that's just my scenario.

I don't know much about Harvey... I think he works better as a martyr in Batman's mind. As the friend who's fallen, the last 'hope' of normalcy that got deformed and "blasted half to hell" by the likes of the Joker. Maybe Bane's the one who is taking out the mafias, one at a time. I highly suspect Bane to take Azrael's place from Knightfall, he seems to be the kind of vigilante/anti-hero who believes that Batman really is the evil the world now sees him as, and by 'taking Gotham' from him, Bane will impose a more twisted grip on the mob and the like. I can't wait to see Gordon reacting to the emergence of Bane.

The mob has become little more than the 'thugs' hired by super-villains and the such. And a reactionary Falcone heir seeks to redeem that. Starting with a bounty on Catwoman's tail.
