Since the DCEU started back in 2013 it has had its fair share of hits and misses. The fact that it has been 5 years since the DCEU has started and it has only put out like, how many films in the past 5 years?

However as far as the rest of the DCEU goes going forward; how I would plan it out would look something like this:

- Aquaman (2018)
- Shazam (2019)
- Wonder Woman 2 (2019)
- Suicide Squad 2 (2020)
- Green Lantern Corps (2020)
- Flashpoint (2020)
- Batman Solo (2021)
- Man of Steel Sequel (2021)
- Justice League 2 (2022)

If it were me running the show I'd be looking more at the 'hows' that the 'whats', and it would come down to

1. Quality - should be pretty self-explanatory

2. Faithfulness to source material - not to say the movies can't deviate in any way (even the DCAU did that on occasion) but those deviations should make sense and still retain the essence of what we love about the characters

3. Structure - even if the films are basically standalone there should be a clear sense of direction for each character/mini-franchise

The DCEU needs to stand as its own thing, not simply as a reaction to the success of something else (although in a business sense it obviously is a reaction, but I'm talking creatively). It should run as if they'd been the first CBM 'shared universe'.

Oh, and I'd make the second Supes solo a priority!

**** continuity. I love that they're doing The Joker. Bring on other out of continuity stories.

New Gods is genius. If it's a big success, the sequel can feature the Justice League.

Flashpoint should be the DCEU's sendoff. Big timeline changes should be made after that movie because the DCEU is effectively dead.

Green Lantern Corps has to happen. Get McQuarrie, Cruise, and Trevante Rhodes in there and get out of their way.

And I agree they need to adhere to the source material a bit more. Marvel has that down perfectly, and the reception speaks for itself.

Also, scrap Black Adam, Deadshot, Suicide Squad 2, Booster Gold, and anything involving Jared Leto's Joker. Horrible ideas there. Lobo is honestly a pretty good idea if they can get the budget to a reasonable level.

Is WB even interested in continuing the DCEU? Apart from the already established characters, are these new movies even suppose to be part of the verse?

I'm kind of bored by WB's treatment of its flagship heroes. Maybe they should focus on edgier characters and they could find success there..

I could see it becoming DCEU in name only, with minimal - if at all - crossovers. At least until things pick up.

Don't make a movie for this character.

Screw "building" the universe. Just release good films, and if the audience likes them enough to want crossovers, then, and only then, do that.

You're right. He deserves a high quality television series. Maybe HBO.

I wish Depp and Burton's recent efforts weren't so phoned in. Those two would be the perfect team for a Sandman movie. If they were to make it a movie that is..

I think it was around 2013 that Joseph Gordon Levitt started working on the Sandman movie and then later he quit. Not long after that, the writer they had for it quit as well and the reason he gave is that Sandman should be a tv series instead of a movie.

So far the only movie currently in production that is set in the DCEU introducing a new character in the universe is Shazam.

It will be adapted sooner or later. TV or movie. It's too good of an IP. A movie would be a disaster probably. They'd try to cram too much into it.

Yes JGL was attached for quite some time. It was a real 'labour of love' apparently.

Plan it out in phases just like Marvel

However, for DC phases you do this

Upcoming- Aquaman, Shazam, Wonder Woman 2, Suicide Squad 2, Flash, Green Lantern Corps

Next Phase- Batman Solo, Hawkman, Justice League 2 (introduces Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl), Man of Steel 2, Blue Beetle & Booster Gold, Flash Sequel

Next Phase After- Wonder Woman 3, etc.

So on and so forth

You have to figure out what kind of story you want to wrap around each of the phases and storylines. My thing is DC has the characters, the better stories, the history, and the fandom. The problem is WB doesn't have confidence in any of that and keep thinking they need to reinvent the wheel.

That is true and if they plan out the phases properly then it won't be a problem going forward

Also nice direction too you go after directors who are not named Zack Snyder first and foremost

Get rid of Snyder at the top

The only way probably the DCEU survives is if they move studios with WB losing the rights altogether to every single character and it going to another studio like Universal or Paramount or something anything really

Marvel had it planned out all the way. Thanos in the post credits of Avengers ended Phase 1. Now we are preparing for Infinity War. It was clever and intelligent story planning and executing that has made Marvel what it is.

Snyder is gone. Now DC needs a guy like Whedon to craft a full-fledged universe that incorporates every corner of the DC Comics universe. Marvel has their limits because they don't have total control over some of their most popular characters and stories, but DC doesn't have this issue.

There is no need to blow it up or start over as a lot of people keep saying. Follow how Marvel built their model....patiently, one movie at a time, don't announce new films every 3 months. Take your time and build it out. But they have to get Superman back on the silver screen as soon as possible. They should be looking for a late 2020 release.

Yes I understand that but then DC if they do one movie at a time one movie a year then they lose steam that way

Marvel at least puts out like 3 or 4 films a year

If DC puts out at least 3 films a year then they should pick up steam pick up pace pretty quickly

Marvel started out with 6 films within 4 years.
Iron Man, TIH (2008)
Iron Man 2 (2010)
Thor, Captain America (2011)
Avengers (2012)

This is a slow enough build. Bring out 6 films within the next 4 years, so by 2022, you can have:

Aquaman (2018)
WW2 (2019)
MOS2 (2020)
New Gods (2020)
The Batman (2021)
Green Lantern (2022)

Aquaman and WW are in good hands, so start focusing on Man of Steel and The New Gods. So that way by 2023, you can hype up Justice League 2 with Darkseid. No need to try and shoehorn in a Flash movie or a Cyborg film. Treat those characters like the Hulk, just leave them as side characters in the other films.

Yeah but 5 years in and DC only has:

Man of Steel (2013)
Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Suicide Squad (2016)
Wonder Woman (2017)
Justice League (2017)

Only 5 films in 5 years

But still I actually like your plan I really do

Then you can add comedy to the phase just like how Marvel did with Ant Man which comedic relief type heroes does DC have to counter Marvel in that department?

They have Blue Beetle & Booster Gold as well as The Atom too

Supergirl you can bring her in as well

Besides the already listed Shazam, Flashpoint, and SS2 + w/e Harley or Joker movie they end up doing?

Beetle & Gold still feels many more years away.

Supergirl I would definitely add her into a MOS 2 sequel provided if it is included in the next phase because that way it doesn't take the focus off of Cavill and you could even include Ray Fisher's Cyborg as a side character too in the film

This isn't a problem, they've come out with all the movies as intended and on schedule. 2018 is the only misstep so far in that they didn't get out The Flash and The Batman on time, but both of those are still top priorities and will get made. 2019's still coming out with Shazam. The only movies from the original slate not coming are JL2, Cyborg, possibly GLC, and possibly MOS2.

2013-2016 was supposed to be their "creative planning" stage but due to 3 critical duds, we are right back to square one. Hard time to be a DCEU fan, and on top of that we have 21 announced films, the majority of which were announced during or after 2016...almost as if WB has no idea what they are doing.
