Howard Cantour.com (Shia LaBeouf)

He even plagiarized his apology. What a troll.

Thank GOD, nobody has defended Shia's actions. I've seen some people doing it miserably.

Maybe he's trying some kind of Joaquin Phoenix thing where he's doing it intentionally for some kind of artistic experiment.

Or he's incredibly lazy and can't even be bothered to make a genuine apology.

No it's not because there Phoenix never plagiarized; his act was all done within legally.

"I swear! I wasn't cheating on the math test... I was doing an artistic experiment! Yeah, that's right! An artistic experiment!"

Clowes said it best: I can't imagine what he must have been thinking.

I didn't mean that Phoenix plagarized but that Shia is trying some kind of out there artistic statement in the way Phoenix was being weird. It's more likely he's just being a hack though and I'm looking for a way he may "legitimize" his stupidity.

I think he's so disillusioned that he thought he could get away with this. Because now Daniel Clowes is considering legal action according to Buzzfeed.

Also, Shia has openly stated that he love Clowes work in the past. You have to consider that a guy like Shia, who's been in acting since he was a kid, and who has been surrounded by lawyers and agents all his life, should know better. And it's weird to see that the man that you admire wanting to sue you. haha.

I think Shia, simply put, could be a bit of a sociopath.

He's arrogant. Plain and simple. He liked Clowes' strip and instead of writing his own material, he swiped it wholesale. In his arrogance, he probably thought that no one would recognize all the similarities to an obscure comic strip by a semi-obscure artist (although how he thought that given the internet, I have no idea). The guy is truly creatively and morally bankrupt.

I dont know if it's because he's sociopath or what but he does seem to have a fair amount of problems. And I think he's obviously trolling with those apologies if he's really plagiarizing those too

My friend thinks (I disagree) that this is a publicity stunt. Yeah the short debuted a bit ago but how come right now when his new movies is coming out in Denmark is this happening? I disagree.

I don't think it's a publicity stunt because of the tone. Shia's reputation has gotten worse because of this, which is damaging because he's steadily rebuilding his career post-Transformers.

Plus it has rubbed many the wrong way, including comedians like Patton Oswalt and the book publisher who works with Daniel Clowes, who has actively protest Shia's action.

To apologize for plagiarism he plagiarized Tiger Woods' apology... I'm thinking this is a publicity stunt.

I find it hard to believe that someone can **** up this hard without doing it on purpose.

Yeah, I bought (and frankly, enjoyed) all the other stuff. But the Tiger Woods quote seems way too obvious. Could be that something's be up...

It's hard to tell with Shia. He's been building up a reputation as an arrogant prick for long enough that now everyone has no problem believing he really would think he could get away with this.

It's a shame, because I actually like him as an actor and thought he was good in Lawless, for example.

The ONLY thing I can see that could redeem him is if he does has everyones permission and they are all running an experiment to see public reaction.

I was thinking something along those lines. Those new tweets make it seem that way.

OR, Conspiracy Theory 2.0: He really did plagiarize all that stuff, and now his lawyers have offered a 'Just pretend like you were in on this all along' financial settlement to Clowes etc. And these new tweets are part of a build-up to a damage control reveal .

End Conspiracy Theory.

Then he'd be 3 for 3 since he'd just be plagiarizing Joaquin Phoenix! It'd be like the Triple Crown of Stupidity. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if that's the excuse he uses next. "It was all an artistic statement/social experiment."

He's a goob. I used to think people were unfair to him but that was before I'd been exposed to him for years. He'll find himself flipping burgers one day if he doesn't wise up.

I thought he was just making innocent mistakes too. Excitement/exuberance for the roles he was playing and being in blockbuster films. Now I'm thinking twice about that.

Yeah, he's an artistic mastermind. He had it planned all along, etc...:whatever:

Love the dot connecting going on here.

I've thought he was a *****ebag for years. He's only gotten away with it this long because he is a dude.

What? I never said that was happening. I said it's the only possible explanation I can think of that could possibly not make him look stupid.
