No it's not. I've lost in every Death Match and did so cheerfully...even voting for my opponent in some cases. You people don't get it.
It's two different views of what makes a Death Match fun.
I never said campaigning is cheating. I've said 50 times, "Give it to Matt, because if it's Hype-Wide instead of a Community thing, I D.E.S.E.R.V.E. to lose, 'cause I never frequent other forums."
Why can't you read and comprehend th^t?
I had fun in the the Death Matches because it was all peers, communicative peers, who ended up voting. That was the source of all the humor and good-natured ribbing.
Losing to votes from Duende Verde, or Dew K. Mosi, or Kipobe, or Erzengel was entertaining. Losing to a faceless, silent person you'll never, ever converse with is not.
I don't understand why that sounds unreasonable to you.
I didn't even complain about it, but the Death Matches are now a different sport. It used to be about the reputation you'd cultivated over time. Now it's a more immediate "How well do you reach out to the masses and how prolific and well-travelled are you." contest.
That's fine, but it's like having guys in wheelchairs compete against the NBA. It's a different sport that I can't compete in.....and all that translates into is, I'm not going to waste my time making funny pictures specifically for a match.

What's the big deal?
P.S. Even my "Matt is a Baby" pics kick your "Wilhelm is a Baby" pics.
