After countless hindrances, Hype! Idol is back! And then there were four...

THIS... IS HYPE! IDOL!

Four contestants means it's time for them to work overtime. Yes, we're getting two songs from these talented kids now. And because the last week was so challenging, we decided to reward their survival by letting them choose whatever songs they'd like and giving them a whopping two weeks to finish! They needed it.

The theme was going to be songs of petty mourning over tragically belated internet games, but we ended up scrapping the idea because we realized that it may be a sensitive subject for some. :csad:

Unfortunately DBella had to resign from her position as judge. AndThePickles will join the roster as her replacement (I think :o). The super speedy Erzengel and, of course, Colossal Spoons are back.

Our second drop out, knowsbleed, left the competition because he claims he is too busy having a life. Who knew.

And we have to leave for a commercial break! See you in two weeks!

Good to be back with this microphone in my hand, although sometimes I would like to just rear back and fire it at some people. That being said, here is a word from our sponsor, it is a real treat. This kid can do imitations with the best of them. Enjoy.

I kid, I kid! We're back... It's okay! You can breathe now!

We‘re starting our first round out tonight with ObakeTora‘s rendition of Level 42‘s Lessons in Love.

ObakeTora - Lessons in Love, Level 42

Judges, do you think he may need to learn a lesson after that performance?

Colossal Spoons: "Never heard that song before; but you killed it dawg."

AndThePickles: "This was a little hard to hear because the mic seemed rather static-y. :csad:"

Erzengel: "Another week, another outstanding performance. I confess I'm not familiar with this song but I felt it was very well done. :)"

Star‘s first song this evening is Cascada‘s Everytime We Touch.

Star - Everytime We Touch, Cascada

What feeling do you get every time she sings?

Colossal Spoons: "Why do I like this song so much? I'm not gay, I swear lol. Aside from the high notes you missed, good job, girlfriend *snaps fingers*"

AndThePickles: "Aw, you sound very sweet on this song."

Erzengel: "Very pretty, and it feels like you put a little more energy in this song this week. Well done."

Like The Little Mermaid, Shlee wants to be Part of Your World with her first performance tonight.

Shlee - Part of Your World, The Little Mermaid

How‘d she do, judges?

Colossal Spoons: "As much as I hate this song, you slaughtered it woman "

AndThePickles: "My favorite Little Mermaid song! I would've liked to hear a little more passion, but it was very pretty :yay:"

Erzengel: "Amazing. I watched this on Broadway and I think you really did a phenomenal job with this song. You are truly gifted."

JP takes us to Kokomo with this Beach Boys hit.

JP - Kokomo, Beach Boys

Did he take you away, judges?

Colossal Spoons: "Haha, I think of the Muppet Babies everytime I hear this song. Your performance did not change this. Good job."

AndThePickles: "I'm always impressed that you do your background vocals as well as the main singer  This one felt a little cheesy/forced at times, though."

Erzengel: "This song really suited you, I wasn't sure what to expect you did a really great job with this song."

Here‘s ObakeTora with his second song of the night, the Galaxy Rangers theme.

ObakeTora - Galaxy Rangers

Was it out of this world?

Colossal Spoons: "Great stuff "

AndThePickles: "Haha, I know nothing about Galaxy Rangers, but this was very beautifully sung "

Erzengel: "LOL. I love that you went off the reservation so to speak with this song. I don't watch Power Rangers but I liked what you did here."

This second performance of Star‘s is an interesting one! Here she is with Sir Mix-a-Lot‘s Baby Got Back.

Star - Baby Got Back, Sir Mix-a-Lot

How was it, judges?

Colossal Spoons: "Haha, hearing you say those words was hilarious. You coulda cut out the beginning with the words though."

AndThePickles: "Haha, funny choice, but maybe not the best choice for Hype Idol because I could tell you were choking back laughs the whole time :woot:"

Erzengel: "I know you did this almost a goof song, but I think this is the best song you've done since I heard you sing, in my opinion."

Amazing Grace is Shlee‘s second song choice for tonight.

Shlee - Amazing Grace

Was she amazing?

Colossal Spoons: "*tears up* Beautiful"

AndThePickles: "There's the passion! :oldrazz: Beautiful rendition. "

Erzengel: "I love this song. And you really did this justice. You kinda set the bar this week."

JP finishes off the show tonight with this performance of Shaggy‘s Angel.

JP - Angel, Shaggy

Hey girls, was he your angel?

Colossal Spoons: "Loved the little Jamaican bit at the beginning. You'd fit right in at my house, dawg. Amazing performance!"

AndThePickles: "Haha, this was seriously the greatest thing I've heard in ages! Your Jamaican voice is hilarious :woot: Love it."

Erzengel: "I liked that you went a different way with this song, actually both these songs since I felt your best work was during the Broadway weeks. I liked who you mixed both songs. Like I said for the first song, great job."

Thank you. I don't know what you mean by forced but as for cheesy I try to make all my performances that way. Glad someone noticed. :)

Thanks for the compliment! Hmm maybe Ill do the theme song from Tokyo Sentai DekaRanger! That was the only version of the Power Rangers I liked! Wonder what Umiko is doing with her fine self!?

By forced I meant that you were trying so hard that it sounded cheesy. But if it's SUPPOSED to sound cheesy, then by all means, bravo! :woot::oldrazz: I still enjoyed it regardless, all of your songs always get a smile out of me. I've NEVER heard anyone do all the vocals with just an at-home mic the way you've been doing lol.

Thanks. I think they worked for 'Kokomo'.. not so much when I did 'Nicest Kids In Town'. My backing vocals sounded like horrifying zombies in that one. :p

Man, I spent forever trying to figure out if you were doing all the kid's voices in that one. I thought it was funny, definitely not like any zombies I've ever heard :o

How long is this thing going to last???
