Hype M.D.: Diagnose a Hypester

hmm new question for the doc's in the house, i go outside tonight and its below freezing, im wearing a short sleeved shirt and i start to get these little, like, rash bumps by my elbows, like little elevated zits or chicken pox or something. same thing happened when i stuck my arm out the window while i was driving a while ago, except it basically looked like a spider bit me and i was having an allergic reaction... am i allergic to cold?

^^ Do they go away after a minute or so or do they stay on for days? Do they itch?

My guess right now is hives? Doesn't mean you're allergic to cold it's just a reaction to it. Not the most common form of hives but it happens.

nah they go away after i get somewhere warm. thats weird, ive never known anything like that to happen before to anyone i knew. and they dont really itch, just make my arm look bumpy in one area. :liz:
also what can i do 'bout the dry eye stuff? by the way, much appreciated on all the advice and whatnot, Supe. :D:up:

I've been infected with a nasty case of awesome that just won't go away ever since I was a kid. Doctor said it's just something I'm gonna have to live with.

Schizophrenia and delusion of grandeur.

Yeah, it's definitely hives which is nothing to worry about. Most people get them.

About the Dry eyes, one, you need to see a eye doctor called an opthamologist so that he/she can look at how severe the problem is and they might give you an eye drop that suits you.

Short of that you can use an over the counter eye drop medication for dry to severe-dry eyes. Do you live in a dry area like Arizona? A humidifier can help, also an air filter can help remove excess dust from the air in your home. If the problem gets irritating a warm towel over your eyes can sooth the irritation.

It's still a good idea to see, at least your family doctor, just in case.

New update on the finger.

First of all I had to go to another state an hour away for my appointment, jackasses. I like the Doctor, he's my age, rather sexy and very personable (which I think is a pretty good front).

Anyway, I give them the run down and they seem to be really concern in making sure I'm wearing my splint, which I am. I go in for an x-ray and the tech comes out and has this really weird look on her face as she asks me if I'm having extra pain since the last time I was here? Okay, I start to get concerned.

I can hear my Doctor looking at the x-rays and it's not a good reaction. He calls for me to take a look. My ****ing finger has now snapped, it was at least held together now it looks like a freakin snapped twig. :( I felt a sinking feeling. He wants me to go to a hand specialists. No use of the left hand, I am so getting fired. *sigh*

I think that first crunch I heard was it splitting and the second crunch was it completely breaking.

Whaaa? Out of curiosity what were you doing when you heard the crunch?

The first time, I was scratching my head...very lightly. I jerked back when I realized what I was doing and heard the crunch. It was really quick. The second time was at work, holding with my left hand while drilling with the right. Now I'm not suppose to use my left hand at all, tomorrow should be very interesting.

Did I mention I was sent away with a giant box of Caltrate?

The caltrate is not surprising; extra calcium for your bones. One, it helps the healing process, two, will keep you from hurting it any worse. Getting some extra Vit. D wouldn't hurt either, it helps the bones absorb calcium.

I'm surprised that your finger is that badly hurt. From your earlier description it really sounded like cartridge irritation. Shows what us Year Oners know. :(

Lol, it's ok. I enjoy hearing your diagnosis. :yay:

I think I'm going to have surgery. It's a displaced fracture now. I'm still waiting for the insurance company to make an appointment.
