Greetings my fellow sports fans on the Hype! Today we begin the Sports Awards for 2009, seeking to recognize great players, fans and coaches over the past sports year...NOTE: The past sports year means anything that occurred from last September to now

Starting today, to June 30th, we'll be taking your suggestions for winners in the following categories.

Newbie Sports Fan of the Year -
Sports Lifetime Achievement Award* -
Best Hype MLB fan -

Best Hype NHL fan -
Best Hype Soccer/Football fan -
Matt's NASCAR Fan Award -
The Kick Ass Award for MMA/UFC Fan -

Sports Moment of the Year -
Useless Man Award** -

Team and athlete nominations can be college or pro, in any sport.

* = Someone who's been around a long time, that's contributed the most to the sports threads

** = Sports' biggest attention ****e, or someone that keeps screwing up

This event will be hosted by me, and my charming co-host, king of playoff pools..the one and only NewYorkSpider! He'll be helping me keep track of the names, how many times someone is submitted and so on.

So, fill it out, and PM your noms to me! Once they're in, we'll announce the final list of nominees, winners are scheduled to be announced following the weekend of July 4th.
