Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Day 15 of Hype Survivor 29: Team Edward vs Team Jacob! Lets take a moment to remember our fallen coven member, NYS. You guys completely rammed a stake through his heart. He shall be missed. :(

But onto more important things! Like swooning over Edward, mutant, walking talking babies, and being celibate! And also...

The Rules:

Twenty four spies. Two tribes. One Survivor.

Each 'day' is marked by a new challenge. Days in this game can last anywhere from ten minutes to one week. Each tribe will receive team challenges (instructions for challenges will be explained for each challenge). Challenges can be anything from basic trivia, to various games, to photo editing competitions. Judgment and scoring of challenges will vary depending on the challenge and will be explained in the challenge PM. The tribe who wins the challenge will receive immunity. The tribe who loses the challenge will go to tribal council.

Tribal council is simple. Each player receives on vote, you vote out the person you want to remove from the game. Majority vote wins. Once you are voted out, you no longer play the game and for all intents and purposes lose. Ties at tribal council will be broken by special challenges.

At some point the tribes will be merged into one tribe. Only the hosts will know about this day until the time it actually comes. Once tribes merge, challenges will be played for individual immunity at tribal council. In other words, you’re on your own.

Hype! Survivor is a game of both strategy and deception. Alliances are both permitted, and encouraged. Masterminding and forethought are the keys to success. On a side note: alliances can be with any of the 26 players... doesn't matter who they are... doesn't matter what tribes they're on... just make sure it's someone you trust... or not. As the old saying goes: keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

The final Jury will be composed of 7 people: everyone voted off from the remaining nine players who didn't make the finals. The Jury and only the Jury will vote FOR WHO THEY THINK SHOULD WIN of the final two remaining players to find the winner of the Hype! Survivor.

A note on cheating: It's very easy to cheat in this game. Very, very easy. Some of the rounds will be much more difficult to cheat at than others (some will be downright impossible to cheat on). Regardless, hosts have ways of catching you, and sometimes will even set up traps for you. If you feel you have to cheat in an internet game, by all means, go ahead... but if you're caught, you WILL be penalized. Again, specific rules of what's legal or not will be in each challenge PM.

This game will bring a couple new elements into the game. Firstly are reward challenges. Most challenges will include a built on side challenge that is entirely optional but winning it will give you or your tribe a reward of various types and sizes. These are separate from immunity challenges and are not required, but could be very useful.

This game will also feature the return of the hidden immunity idol. There is an immunity idol is hidden somewhere on the Hype. If you find it, it can be used in any tribal council prior to the revelation of votes. If you use it, you are safe from being voted out at that tribal council and all votes against you will be discarded. Once it is used, the user loses it and it will be hidden somewhere else on the Hype. It can be used any time until the final five tribal council. Once you’re in the final four, it is dead. Clues to the location will be the reward in alternating reward challenges. They will be given to your tribe captain and it is their choice as to whether or not they’d like to share them.

Starting with Day 2, Tribe Captains are to be announced in your tribe forum prior to the start of every challenge. They, and only they can submit your tribe’s official challenge submission. The same player cannot be captain twice in a row.

Once a submission is made in your tribe's forum or by PM, it is final. No editting of the submission or resubmission will be accepted, regardless of how much time remains until the deadline.

Finally, each tribe has a mole within it. This player is a double agent for the other tribe and will secretly vote in their tribe’s tribal council. For example, there is a member of the Black Tribe in the White Tribe. Despite being a member of the White Tribe and being able to be voted out of the White Tribe, they can secretly vote in the Black Tribe’s and only the Black Tribe’s tribal council. Likewise, there is a member of the White Tribe in Black and they have the same voting privileges. Now your job as a tribe is to root out this traitor and vote them out. If the spies make it to the merge, they will receive a HUGE clue as to the location of the hidden immunity idol as well as all other clues given up until that point.

These rules are subject to change at any time with absolutely no warning. They are more of guidelines for the game. Specific rules for each challenge will be issued via Challenge PM.

Assume everything is Eastern Time Zone.

Do you like the new player grid? I worked super hard on it (I had to spend an hour on Wikipedia researching the characters. :()

Now, as a spy, you have many job perks. The guns, the girls, the gadgets, a **** load of frequent flyer miles. But there are also down sides. Namely paper work and torture. Today has a little bit of both.

While I prepare the PMs, feel free to discuss my awesome new grid which I made as a sign of solidarity to all of you. If you guys are going to be tortured by this challenge, I tortured myself too. :yay:

Challenge PMs are sent! :pal:

I'm sorta glad that I got kicked out of this game now :(

I feel my comment in the other thread needs to be reiterated.

Aw, what the hell, it'll be hard to cheat so lets allow our viewers to see this challenge:

Hello my fellow Twi-Hards. As mentioned in the thread today is about writing reports and torture.

So you mission is as follows.

A atleast 1,000 word critical analysis of the films Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon. They will be judged by a panel of three Twilight fans based on three categories

1) Quality of your writing

2) Quality of your analysis

3) Details (how much detail you give about the movies. This will be to ensure you actually watch them and not just use Wikipedia).

A couple rules to keep in mind

1) Ghost writing is forbidden. You cannot outsource this. I will be checking the writing style and comparing it to your Hype style, use of grammar, spelling, word choice, etc to make sure these are the real deal. If you cheat, you're disqualified.

2) This challenge WILL NOT END until I receive a submission from each and every one of you. No backing out of this one. That said, you have 72 hours to complete this challenge (until 12:00 pm est time on Thursday, July 15th). For every 24 hour period after that, that I do not have a submission, I will be adding one vote against you in Tribal Council, meaning you can vote yourself out by not taking part in this challenge. Cruel, isn't it? :pal:

3) If there is something in real life that is truly preventing you from doing the challenge (and hate of Twilight does not count), then PM me and I will accomodate.

Now, onto the reward challenge. We're getting towards the end so this is going to be a good one. It is 12:15 est time as I write this. The first player to go see Twilight Saga Eclipse after 12:15 est time, on 07/12/2010 wins reward. You must PM me a picture of your ticket stub (with time and date on it), as well as cell phone or digital camera pictures of the screen (time stamped) at 30 minute intervals throughout the movie to prove you are actually watching it and not just buying a ticket and sneaking into something else. You must be in the pictures! :pal:

Let your torture and reports of your torture begin!

All I can say is that I hope these twilight fans who are judges are not going to condemn us for writing scathing reviews of these movies. I hope that they look at our submissions objectively. I've had to suffer sit through both of these movies and I thought they were horrible.

If they disagree with your analysis they can give you low marks but that is the only category which their opinion on Twilight will effect.

The question was raised whether you have to do one or two thousand word essays. Just one that covers both films. How you divide it is up to you.

Come on Matt, as a Futurama lover, do a Futurama challenge :csad:...Or in the future, a Survivor purely based on Futurama

It would be glorious

Also, you're a jerk :cmad:

Can't believe I have to do this.......

Matt...remind me to KILL you for this! :cmad:

Hahaha. I'd just write " Twilight is really really really (keep saying really until you have one word left to type)...bad"

I bet I'd win with that essay

The original theme for this game was Futurama, but it fell through. Perhaps my next game?

Sounds disturbingly interesting... Can I have a copy of the essays when this round is done?

I REALLY want to read them.... :hehe:

Yes!

You could do power ups type stuff, but for the Futurama theme, the power ups could be one of Farnsworth's Inventions and Doomsday devices

And the two tribes could be Planet Express and Mom's Friendly Robot Company :awesome:

I vote that the remaining members of this game construct a 'Harmony Hut' (a la The Addam's Family) and stick Matt in there for a very, very long time. And Hunter, if you had any part of this monstrosity, you're going in too!

:cmad:

Having watched the first movie...I SECOND THIS! :cmad:

I've got MANY choice words for my essay already :o

LOL! My review is awesome so far

I wrote my critical analysis which is not really a review and it sucks but given I saw the movies (bought the DVDs) just for this absolutely horrible challenge I decided to write it without giving my opinion of the quality of these two movies. One thing I must say was the second was absolutely horrendous relative to the first but I understand its popularity with the young female crowd it targets.

My review is in da hizzy! And it is amazing :word:

Yeah, I'm finishing up mine as well.
