So I'm gonna make an impassioned plea...gives this award to Erzengel. Kane's name seems to be popping up the most, but Kane, whom I love, is not Erzengel. His impact to the Hype is not as meaningful as Erz's. Erzengel is the original Kane. He was Kane before Kane was Kane. Therefore, Kane beating Erzengel for the award is not right. Most of you weren't here during the mid-2000s. But anyone who was can testify, Erzengel is the epitome of the Hype during that time period. He is its prototypical poster. His presence is what molded the Community forum into what it is today and set the standard for it. Without Erzengel, there is no Kane. As such, I ask that you vote Erzengel for the Hype-Time Achievement Award!

While I completely agree with this and feel that Erz winning would be completely fitting, there is a lot more to the hype than just Community. I sometimes feel that the only people who are really considered for this award are those who are best known in Community.

Going outside of Community, I think posters like Specter313, Colossal Spoons, Johnny Blaze, and weigeabo should be considered equally to Erz, as they've done similar things that Erz has done but in other parts of the Hype. Specter keeps the entirety of the hype's comics fans (Marvel specifically) up to date on upcoming previews, news, and solicitations and has for YEARS. Spoons' presence not only in the comics section, but also in Community and elsewhere has been awesome. He's easily one of the most beloved posters and has been for years and years. Johnny Blaze not only started what would become a very popular game: the Dream Team League (DTL), but it was so popular that it garnered its own forum. The same can be said for weigeabo, who not only modded for a while, but also took over the DTL from Johnny Blaze and was also a huge influence in the Hype Role Playing Games, running it as well I think.

Not to take away from your plea for Erz, but based on the reasoning you gave, I'd like to just make sure others like him are also given proper consideration.

I'll be honest. I'm only an occasional visitor to Community when not playing Survivor. The best I could say is that you're a phenomenal Survivor player, know your sports, and are a swell guy. Not exactly Hype-Time Achievement feats, but chances are others like me (or those who spend even less time in Community than I do) will see you as being even less worthy.

I feel you are worthy of the award due to what I DO know about you, your longevity, and word of mouth regarding how important you've been in the past. Sadly though, there are others who I feel deserve the award more, but only because they're in my neck of the woods and I've seen what they've brought first hand. Personally, I think weigeabo and Specter313 are more deserving. Sadly, around here I don't think either of them would even get enough votes to be nominated.

If I can throw two noms it'd be for Specter313 and weigeabo, but if I can only pick one to vote for, my nom will go to Specter313.

We are running into an even bigger issue this year. Last year I was indifferent to the whole popular vote and committee vote, but now I see a necessity for more than one inductee each year. The committee vote I've warmed up to.

But I think we are bottlenecking with posters now. I feel Immortalfire who's pushing 12+ years on here is very deserving. Anubis and Spoons (although I'm not sure how active of a poster he is now) are others. Obviously I'm not as familiar with Weigeabo or Specter313 but from what you said, I'm sure they would be fine selections too.

I think Kane is another good poster. But just like the whole Sawyer for It Girl, it really should be in the spirit of the Award which is for someone who's been here for a while.

These Awards have always been lean towards Community, just the way it is. But with each year, you are going to have more and more people depending if they are still posting who should be up for this award. And while I realize that this is an internet messageboard, I've had put some effort into these Awards and as an active poster, I would like this seen done right.

I disagree. Achievement indicates that something be achieved beyond longevity.

The fact that some of them have been here for almost 13+ years and are still posting.

I personally don't think this vote should be based around what you've "won" or "hosted" or any of that stuff.

It also says...

This is an award that generally goes to a longer-term member...or an 'oldbie' as they are often referred to.

The fact that Kane is getting votes for this really doesn't make sense. Nothing against you Kane or the people that voted for you. I think you've been a terrific poster for this site. I just don't think it's his time to win the award.
