Batman Begins I hate batman begin costume

In reality there are various light weight body armor materials to use. The body armor issued to the troops is very light weight and capable of stopping the heavy stuff that the BB suit cant. There was one particular material as thin light as a cotton tshirt that was capable of stopping high powered rifle rounds...saw it on Military Tech on the Military Channel.

So let me get this straight; there is an armor material out there in the real world setting that is as light as a cotton t-shirt that will stop bullets. Wouldn't that be easier to move around in, in the real world or a movie, compared to a rubber suit that I'm guessing weighs more than a t-shirt?

that would be correct...gold star for you:woot:

That costume looked like I could go pick it up at the toy store for $5.00.

BB costume was so much better then your piece of crap costume.

MacLeod is right. Dead End looked like a man in a costume, not a guy confined in suffocating rubber and plastic. Dead End looked very close to the books. As it should.

Thanks. The only rubber suit I liked was the one in 89, at least that tried to look human and scary. Everything since then has just been an attempt to design something that looks interesting when in reality it doesn't and deters from the character.

My piece of crap costume, I don't remember showing any costume that I made. If you're referring to the Dead End costume I would have a problem with that only because it's the comic costume, the one that has been in the comics for 70 years. There are other light weight armors out there, and better explanations that movie makers can come up with, that would make the movie costumes not have to be rubberized monstrosities.

Ick, you have bad batsuit taste.:o:down

Why the hell is that?

Dead End is the closest Batman has ever looked like he does in the comics, visually it is certainly my favorite bat-suit. If you don't like the look that has been used in the comics for the past 70 years and believe that "teh puffy rubber" is an improvement, that's your damn problem. So back off, buddy before you make me engage in an in-depth discussion about how faithful that costume was. In fact, it's the only thing I thought was great about Dead End. You can keep the rest.

I didn't like the overall look because it just looked cheap, not because it was faithful to the comics.

They did a good job on the cowl and cape though.

Not that I'm trying to defend the Dead End costume but it may look cheap because it is simply a spandex shirt and pants. Granted, I still prefer seeing that compared to any rubber type suit but if you want more than just spandex remember that this was a fan based movie probably with a watched budget. The cape was amazing however the cowl didn't do much for me. However, I'll take Dead End's cowl anyday compared to the one used in Begins. Without a muscle suit underneath you have to give credit to the size of the actor and how he pulled off making the spandex actually look somewhat decent.

The Dead End cowl is my favorite, it was based completely off of Brian Bolland's Bat-cowl and looks exactly like it. The ears curved back and were more in the middle of his head, he had perfect mouth room, and the brows looked very menacing compared to the film's cowl that just has a generic 'v' brow. There should have been something under the suit since it was just cloth, like a layer of "kevlar" or whatever. I also liked the cape and the bat-symbol on the chest. The only thing I really hated about the Dead End costume was the stupid gauntlets.

Yeah, the spadex would have looked awful had they not had a Batman who looked like he could crush your ass to smithereens.

They should have gotten strong gauntlets and used neoprene and kevlar instead of spandex. That would have been perfect, but hell, even if you use neoprene, you need a bigger actor.

I completely agree with you. There were aspects of the Dead End cowl that I like; the lines on the forehead and the mouth room are good like you said. The ears are throwing me a little though but overall still a HUGE improvement over the Begins' cowl. I like Bolland's work, I recently got the Black and White statue and it looks amazing. As far as the suit is concerned there should be something under the suit for a normal actor. Not everyone is as big as Clark Bartman, although Bruce Wayne should be that big if he worked out as much as he does in the comics. An underarmor suit would work perfectly, it would make Batman look like he did in Dead End but still have some armor protection for those that think he needs it. An underamor suit like they used in Spiderman or Superman Returns would work perfectly.

The mask and the banana hammock are what bother me about that suit

What is a "banana hammock"? I am usually one who says we need bigger guys to play super heroes, but if the actor was relatively trim, but ripped and powerful looking like that, I am with it. Other than the too long ears, I think that is a terrific costume. Very realistic looking.

Based on this pic the designer was obviously looking to do a vampire/Kelley Jones inspired piece.

Anyhow, rather than just say "Dude, that sucks" I'll point out what I believe does and does not work with this costume:

The good: The gloves are perfect. Very stylized yet seemingly functional. Plus they're one piece and all black which is much better that what was used in BATMAN BEGINS.

The belt is right on the money. Looks like you could actually store stuff you could really use in there, as opposed to just looking pretty. A real utility belt.

The color in general. I like seeing a distinct difference in the cowl, cape, gloves and boots, and the body. Black and grey is the way to go. I love the size and design of the bat symbol, although I would make it as dark as the other black pieces.

The bad: The ears, obviously. Actually the mask in general. I think something like this would work better:

The texture of the grey body suit bothers me too. It looks like thermal underwear. Something smoother would be nicer. Also, the body of the model underneath is too thin and needs some padding. I also dislike the cape being under the neck of the mask rather than over it.

Overall though I would say that this costume is closer to what I would like to see in a film than any of the suits made so far. You reading this, Warner Brothers?:cwink:

I would happily, gladly, overjoyously take either one of the above designs over the Begins suit or the monstrosity of the TDK suit.
