I just bought a house!!

congrats man! i envy anyone who has reached that accomplishment. owning my own house is pretty much my main goal right now. with my new bachelor status, i can focus on saving more money.....hopefully.

i like the place by the way. good luck!!

Congrats bud. I just bought one about 10 months ago, it's fantastic.

Congratulations, Cobblepot. It looks very nice. :)

I'm curious how houses are financed there. My girlfriend sells real estate and the problems in the mortgage industry here have hurt real estate sales. She told me that most people get a 30 year mortgage. :shock Is that how it is there?

Same here, 30 years.
I got it for 246.000 add 10% to that and then about 30.000 euro's of renovation costs.

Nice place, i'm envious :D congrats

I'm going to pay you a visit today.

Congratulations! It looks like a nice place. Have fun

It's Saturday night, I say we party at Cobblepot's place.

Go ahead and just take your wallet out and just dump the money out. :) I love owning a house, but there is ALWAYS something that needs to get fixed or replaced. Just today I had to get my Air Conditioner worked on.

I had to get my A/C looked at last week as well, here at the new house (we moved in back in November). 'Tis the season

Congratulations, Cobblepot. It looks very nice. :)

30 year mortgages are pretty common. My wife is also a realtor and has felt the crunch from the mortgage industry problems in addition to the housing crisis. The mortgage companies went from giving damn near anyone a loan to giving damn near NOBODY a loan as a result of all the loose loans that were floated out that resulted in the current foreclosure problems going on. The pendulum always swings both ways, it seems. Hope business picks up for your S.O., Casey.

Thanks for answering. I wasn't sure how it was done, elsewhere. :)

Congrats on homeownership!!! :yay:
Now if you have any gardening tips you want to share, I'm all for it.

Even though Hydro... Tomato is great, the electricity bill depending on how much your growing can be around $2000. I suggest you just grow organically.

Leave your plants in the sun for around 6 hours a day and water them up to twice a day, especially when it starts to get hot.

I'm looking for some low maintenance fruit bearing bushes that don't need to much sun. My back yard is very shady, except for one spot that I'm thinking will be the location for a hot tub. But I guess until then I could utilize it.

Plus, I'm looking for some low maintenance landscaping ideas for the front of my house, understated yet charming.
