Justabill, you know pretty much what you need to do to get out of your predicament, you just need to man up and change or stop complaining and stick at it.

go and see a careers adviser and either decide to do an apprenticeship at some company/career of your choice or go back to uni.

simple as...

I put myself through college waiting tables at an upscale steak and seafood place. I had my days free to go to school and always had cash in my pocket to cover rent, food, expenses, and whatever else I needed. It's going to take sucking it up and busting your ass for a few years if you want to get your degree. But, if you're going to get off the JOB treadmill and get onto the CAREER treadmill, you're either going to need a degree or become a skilled trade worker in something like plumbing or electrical work as a journeyman, for example. You mentioned creative writing. I'd encourage you to talk to the Communication and English department professors at your school about their degree programs and how you could develop your skills in that area and apply them to a career.

1) Hold on to the job until you find another one, the economy is bad right now and you don't want to face a situation where you are out of work.
2) Use craigslist for job hunting along with Monster and Hot Jobs, just be careful for serial killers and maniacs on Craigs.
3)If you don't want to go back to college full time, look into online classes that offer certificate programs and look for certificates in hot job fields. Computer tech and Accounting are two hot fields right now.
4)Talk to somebody at work in management, somebody you trust. Let them know you are interested in more of a challenge at work and ask if there is any opportunity to move up to make more money. This way you are not bored and you can use the money for college or other ventures.
5) At this point I would avoid starting your own business unless you have done your homework.

Alright. I've got enough advice, can a mod just close and lock this thread? I've taken all the advice in and am going to be working on changing things as soon as humanely possible.
