I like Titanic

I'm probably gonna go see this when Lockout comes out so I can watch both during the same day.

I remember seeing Titanic on the year that it came out (which was 10 years ago), after my brother raved about it. There was some technical difficulties that occurred during the movie, and I could've asked for a refund or a new ticket, but I didn't bother because I just didn't really like the movie. The best parts were the scenes of DiCaprio drawing a topless Winslet (which is rare to see in a PG-13 movie nowadays), and the final scenes where Titanic was sinking (very masterfully shot by Cameron), but other than these the movie was a huge "meh" for me. To each their own, I guess.

Yep, our theater will be getting the 3D version only on Wednesday. Two auditoriums as well (so six shows per day)... guess Cameron wasn't joking about Paramount treating the re-release like a tentpole release.

Very excited to see this on the big screen again.

Does any think this will remind people that Billy Zane is a good actor.

I don't think most people know who Billy Zane is anymore. lol

His character is actually my favorite in the movie. The part I look forward to the most when watching Titanic is when Hockley loses it and grabs Lovejoy's gun. His facial expression when running in slo-mo is priceless and always makes me laugh.

Great movie! I saw this when it came out and it did 2 things: It made me uttered fascinated with the sinking and the ship itself. I really never thought much about it before, but the film made me see what a true disaster and horror it was to be aboard that ship. Secondly,it made me a Kate Winslet fan. :yay:

Was it that portrait scene? :oldrazz:

Regardless, it should be interesting to see how many people will turn out for the re-release on Wednesday, as well as the Easter weekend.

Billy Zane still looks like magic!

I hate Titanic. But please make tons and tons of money for the following reasons;

Terminator 1 and 2 3D re-release.
Aliens 3D re-release.
The Abyss 3D rerelease.
True Lies 3D rerelease.
The Abyss and True lies Blu Ray release dates bumped up!

You also forgot a rerelease of Terminator 1 on Blu-ray, with a better transfer.

I'm trying to remember if my Terminator 1 blu ray even looked good. I think I only played it once so I can't remember. I bought it for two reasons:
1) It's Terminator

2) look at this beautiful lenticular slipcover that it came with:

I had to google Billy Zane to find out who he was. I didn't even remember he played Rose's fiance or whatever. I totally forgot who played him haha. I haven't seen Titanic since it came out. I re-watched the ending the other day and I thought to myself "why did I ever like this film?"

I always had an interest in the Titanic before the movie came out. The doomed but beautiful quality of it all. I remember being touched emotionally by the movie as a youngster when I first saw it. It stayed with me for a while. Haven’t seen the movie in ages, though.

I am living on the razor's edge right now. I have two female BFFs; so far no one has called me up and asked (forced) me to take her to Titanic 3D, but the hammer still has time to drop. Maybe I'll just leave town for the next week or two, or "forget" to charge my cell phone. :(

Best scene will forever be Cal Hockley using someone else's kid to get off the sinking ship...... "I have a child!"

Edit: Kane nah you're not the only one, I went years thinking Billy Zane was in the mummy!

Shouldn't guys who are trying to get in their pants be the ones who should take them to see this?

Dude, you have no idea how many bullets gay guys have to take for straight fellas. For one of them, she goes to see silly romantic movies with me, or to our latin dancing classes, and then goes home to her husband already "in the mood." I should charge that guy money, seriously.

I got to preview some of the movie (not all of it BTW) before tomorrow's re-release. Here's some minor points:

- The old Viacom Paramount logo opening the film is replaced by the 100th Anniversary one.
- The movie has indeed been remastered and looks stunning, like it was shot yesterday. The 3D conversion is excellent... most of the time it reminds me of Cameron's Avatar because of the subtle and gorgeous visuals. It is worth the time and money to see in 3D.
- Cameron did change the sky Rose looks at near the end of the film, although he did it because an astronomer constantly ridiculed him for the inaccurate one in the 1997 version.

Awesome news on the 3D, Cameron always delivers.

How long is this going to be in theaters for?

They say it's in for "limited time" but I call BS, they said the same thing with the Star Wars Ep1 3D and Lion King and they both stayed for almost a month.

If it performs below a certain level, they could yank it out after two weeks (see the low-grossing Glee: The 3D Concert Tour). But considering Titanic's enormous popularity (moreso than The Lion King), I'd be shocked if it didn't exceed the $30M mark on opening weekend and close with $100M domestic.
