I like Titanic

Here is an extensive review of the blu-ray.

Blu-ray.com Titanic blu-ray review

Just saw the alternate ending on youtube. It is terrible, and I mean really terrible. It undermines the whole point of the movie in my opinion, makes it seem like its all about that necklace. I was actually surprised at how bad it was.
It is terrible. Jim said he was trying to convey that Rose's goal was to pass on to Paxton's character what Jack taught her: live life to its fullest every day, and that you can't have material and emotional wealth. You have to choose one over the other. It makes sense in context with Jack's life and what he taught Rose, but it just didn't play well on screen. If you get a chance listen to the comentary for the scene.

Saw that over on bluray.com. Looks nice man, where do you print your covers from?

I download the covers to my flashdrive from various websites, but mainly Customaniacs (if I don't make my own) then I go to Fed Ex. Its about $0.53 per copy.

Rewatched Titanic. My thoughts:

Nothing against Bill Paxton, but I couldn't care less for his character. They should've cut the first 20 minutes with the film starting with Rose arriving at the dock to get to the meat of the story.

I used to hate this movie for years for being so sappy, but Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet really had great chemistry. The art scene and love scene were done in good taste. Damn shame Leo shuns this film rather than embrace it.

Billy Zane had charisma. The guy should've been a bigger star.

I thought Frances Fisher was Maggie Smith by mistake. Frances has some scary eyes!

Some good comedy moments in this film. My favorite part was when Jack stole that guy's coat!

I found Lovejoy to be a more despicable character than Cal.

I didn't know Victor from The Young And The Restless was in this.

This movie is amazing to watch in Soap Opera mode.

The ending still made me cry even after all this time.

It's still my most favourite film, and that fact is a win on my POF profile :)

Great film. Definitelly a must see

Titanic had a broad appeal, every age group could find something interesting about it. Its first weekend it didn't make a lot of money, about $28 million I think, good but not spectacular. But then word of mouth got around and it kept making more than that, week after week after week. People became obsessed. One film discussion group I was in got complaints because there were too many Titanic threads. Some people talked about being emotionally overwhelmed by it and having nightmares about drowning.

I loved David Warner's Lovejoy, he does such a great job playing a bad guy. Too bad they cut the line about his character being a former Pinkerton detective (although Rose does say she thinks he used to be a cop).

I was disappointed they cut Jack beating him up. I enjoyed that scene.

Cameron admits he made the door a little too big for the movie.

I'd rather be disappointed by Justice League than watch Titanic again.

I just love this movie and brings so much nostalgia from my childhood.

And My Heart Will Go On is a classic. I wish Hollywood can make another blockbuster that is heavily a romance film.

I like Titanic too. It's a masterpiece. If anything it's underrated. Easily up there with Cameron's best. It'll look stunning in 4K.

I've had it on DVD for a long while. Still mixed on it after all these years, but when the iceberg pops up, that's when the movie picks up steam.

Between this and Avatar 2, Cameron is gonna be racking up so much dough.

Titanic is great. Anyone who hates it is just mad because Cameron tricked them into watching a movie with their parents that had nudity and a sex scene. :o

Oh man. David Warner died. :csad:

RIP

He was also Jor-El on Lois & Clark and voiced Ra's al Ghul on BTAS.

Great actor.

I generally enjoyed this movie, although it's rather long. But I think Kate Winslet showing her boobs was rather unnecessary though and somewhat gratuitous. If you forget it's there and try watching this movie with your family or younger kids it can be rather awkward. I think she should've saved it for a separate Kate Winslet boobs movie.
