- a really, really rough draft of an early part of a screenplay I'm working on. Anyone who can offer any sort of semi-professional critique, just - enter your email or wherever, I guess.

Best thing to do is show 2 close people do you. Ask them what they would like changed or what to add to it. I'm writhing a screenplay at the moment, once that is done I'll re-read the whole thing, editing in or out parts. Then I'll show two close friends, see if they think something new will work or not. Then I'll film it.

You'll be receiving two earlier drafts, hey. Hope that's alright - these are only portions.

Oh, I'm doing that currently -was actually talking to someone about it earlier. Good luck with yours, hey.

Yours too:up:

This is just me, but I would recommend against asking too many people who know you, to an extent. I mean, it's good to get as much input as you can, but if someone knows you, they have a better chance of missing something that might need to be looked at, because they already know what you mean.

Truth. :o

Yup, also they may be biased.

Depends on the friends.

One of my best friends worked for a year on a short film, spent a ton of money on it, showed it at a small theater, and I was the only one who had the balls to tell him how bad it was.
He agreed with my assessment and thanked me for not just saying "Awesome, dude!" like everyone else did.

Often when friends make movies, friends like them just because all of their mutual friends are involved.

You're MUCH more likely to get an accurate critique from someone who is not your friend.
You're not trying to please your friends, but the greater "audience".

Yep, defiantly depends on the friend. I showed my friend the first few scenes of what I wrote, he told me what he liked and what he hated. He also writes and I tell him what I like and don't like.

[email protected] I'm not saying I'm an expert or anything, but writing is my favourite part of the production process, I've dabbled once or twice, and I do have a flair with words (when I can be bothered) so I will endeavour to help you as much as possible.

Thanks, all. Unfortunately, the program I use to write with, Celtx, is acting odd at the moment - not letting me open any files, and stuff like that. But, for any who'd like to see some of my other really early stuff, I've got two aborted drafts - exercises up at Project Central. Give them a look see - see what you think.

Go Back Home.

A thirteen page exercise I did. Ho hum.

I should be able to get the file up and running again pretty soon, I hope.

I'll have a comprehensive review soon, I'm just really busy with graduation right now.
