Ideas for a more 'Realistic' D.C. universe

It seems possible, within the realm of comic-book realism, for him to absorb energy as a solar battery and turn it into a greater display of power than that sunlight might generate on its own.

IMO that sounds like 'creating' energy. What mechanism is allowing him to do this exactly ? Unless your suggesting that 1st Law of thermodynamics doesn't apply to the D.C. universe ?

How about a more realistic Marvel? Banner dies as he is hit by a massive shockwave of Gamma Radiation, and explodes from thousands of massive tumors suddely erupting within him. Tony Stark dies of Aids. Captain America is dead, and put on display at the smithsonian in his massive block of ice. Peter Parker skipped the exhibit to go home and masterbate furiously as all lonely virgins do, and is now a multi Millionaire inventor who kills prostitutes because chicks didn't talk to him in Highschool. It would be the most realistic and therefore good thing ever!

Its a lot more complicated than that in reality but for the purposes of this thread i have mentioned relevant parts. If you think thats wrong, well your an idiot, sir !

Your points about thermodynamics are irrelevant because the DCU exists in a comic book universe. A sense of realism does not need to exist and the laws of physics need not apply if they choose to. It's that simple.

The problem with the realism debate is it never stops. You can always go further to the point that the characters are totally chumps.

-Superman's an alien that looks like a human. No not realistic. But what do aliens look like?
-Wonder Woman's a greek living on a island hidden from man for 400 years but has advanced tech like a telepathic tiara and braclets that can deflect metal? not realistic.
-The Flash runs at superspeed but his clothes never rip or breaks the neck of people he rescues? Not realistic.

All you can really ask for is for the character's internal logic to maintain and make sense. Superman's a battery that can only hold so much energy. So he can't be right next to the sun with dying. Check.

Wonder Woman's island is shrouded by a mist. Check. Then not every Tom, Dick, and Harry can find it.

Actually Superman absorbing energy and changing it into a different form of energy is perfectly logical. Energy cannot be destroyed, only changed. Sunlight actually in all of it's "forms" is the most powerful form of energy. It's actually 500,000 times stronger than a car going at 50 MPH, but because it's simply photons spread across a wide spectrum it's not the kind that hurts you, but it's been stored by Photovoltaics into electricity that can power thousands of homes for a whole year. So it's really not that far off reality to have Superman do that.

What you are saying is true, in that it is potentially possible for Superman to absorb nearly a 100% of the radiation (all of it by the way) that comes into contact with his body. What you obviously don't understand it tha it still doesn't come close to providing nearly enough energy to perform his most impressive feats.
