To anyone that can help I would more than appreciate it.

Before you ask, yes I have run several spyware/anti virus programs. McAfee, Ad-aware, spy sweeper(free version which didn't get rid of ****) and spybot (which seemed to have removed what spyware wouldn't).

So it seems I have cleaned the spyware/trojan virus that was infecting my computer. But, my IE homepage keeps getting resest to....

http://www.syssecuritysite.com/

That piece of crap! I keep trying to set it to yahoo and when I check my internet options for my homepage it is still on yahoo, but when I open my IE or click on the homepage link it automatically goes to that crap!

Yes I use mozilla, but I still use IE for some websites. So please anyone that can help, it would be greatly appreciated

look through your Program Files, if theres anything with that name, delete every single file.

Anything else I can do or any other solutions?

Hate to say it, but a worse case scenario is you may have to reformat the hard drive. Delete and reinstall.

I had the exact same problem BAH HUMBUG!

I had to re-install windows from scratch because of it. You had a virus and it's infected other files on your computer that can't be cleaned by a virus scanner. Sorry man :down

Im sure my boss at work had this problem last week i`ll ask when i go back see how he fixed it, watch this space

^ What he said...you will most like have to do a reformat and reinstall, more than likely because the virus has spread and is now in the start up files of the computer.

Ok, he said he saw an article in a mag to fix his and he will bring it in tomorrow and photocopy it, in the mean time!

manually, search your computer for *.hta files. Click Start and Search or Find and then Files or Folders and type in *.hta. If you find them rename them so that they can't be found. For example, change file.hta to file.hta1 or move the files to another folder on your computer. Then switch your homepage back to one you like. If your computer doesn't do weird things after this permanently delete them. If it does, you might want to put them back one by one until you find the offender and then delete it.

If failing that it could be in the Windows Startup folder or Registry Run key

I fixed this same problem on Tuesday.

Email me and I'll send you anti-malware progz to fix it.

[email protected]

For more info on it, google: atmclk.exe and you'll find out everything you wanna know about it.

It's a real ***** - I was reading different techie sites/forums for almost a full hour before I finally got what I needed to fix it.

BTW, you DON'T NEED TO FORMAT/REINSTALL anything.

(I had it on my work computer..)

Just email me and you'll be set.

You could try HiJack This....a free program. Look around for it.

Yeah I've actually used it before, a really good program

But very hands on, you need to either know what you are doing or find directions for your specific problem.

Thanks...and good luck.

Thanks, and thanks y2j, now let's see this baby work it's magic.

Well before I even used the program you linked me too y2j, I used avg free version and that thing worked like a charm. I am really surprised that it caught the problem when McAfee couldn't.

But I still ran a-squared after I uninstalled AVG just to make sure and it found a few more things and got rid of them.

Thanks again for the help guys

And reccomending more than just to reformat

YOU GUYS ROCK!
