I don't believe this will happen, I'm just asking, as more out of curiosity, If John Blake takes over for Batman at the end of the movie, should the next director continue on with that?

Just listen,

Nolan views Batman as more of a symbol than it being Bruce Wayne in a suit, In the Nolan-verse, Bruce's story is complete so Blake takes over at the end, instead of a reboot, it would be a whole new bat-story entirely. John Blake takes over for batman and in the films they show his story as batman. No longer need Bale, Nolan is producing, not directing. the new director could use different villains, Riddler, Clayface, etc. It wouldn't be considered a reboot and it would have continuity, It would be a hard thing for comic-book junkies to take in, but it'd be interesting.

No, and I do not believe Blake COULD take over. Bruce just didn't up and put on a suit, he trained himself while abroad and with the LOS...Blake is just a cop. Let's say he's physically capable of being Batman, he doesn't have the mental aspects capable of being The Dark Knight.

I see your train of logic and if I was another director, I would not want to follow Nolan's trilogy, you take over already handicapped in that you have no Bruce Wayne, no Joker and no Two-face and most likely no Bane. Yes there are many more villains but to a general audience, it will not be a BATMAN movie because BRUCE isn't there. Bruce is just as important as Batman.

A new director could re-use joker, he never died. they've done in the comics, JPV taking over as Bats, its happened before, why not do it on the big-screen

I'm asking for thoughts on it! I know it would never happen, Just some fun before the movie

They could do a Batman Beyond idea, with Bale being this old grandpa and Blake being the young gun with cool technology. Oh wait that entire sentence sucks, don't let it happen.

It would be a bad decision, marketing-wise, to have someone other than Bruce don the cowl.

I don't think a Batman movie should be anything buy Wayne. A long-running TV serial, maybe like the comics. But in movies, no. Reboot/start over.

Long-running TV serial != movie franchise.

Nah....take a break for about 7yrs then reboot.

I thought you meant something else. I agree completely with you. Comics, TV, anything. No movies, though.

lmao, I wanna see a tv series based on the movies..imagine this trilogy, with a live action tv series based on what happens between movies, Batman Begins(2005)/ 2-3 Seasons of tv-bats(2005-08). then TDK(2008)/2-3 seasons of tv-bats(2008-12) then the trilogy ends with TDKR. that way, you could see a lot of his villains, more of his story, and a historic Trilogy. They could have Nolan as producer, grooming the director who's doing the tv show to become the director to the reboot. Maybe its just late and im tired, but not too bad of an idea

I'd like a cartoon connected to Nolan's films just like the '92 cartoon was connected to Burton's: loosely and mostly in terms of aesthetics.

Movies are better the rarer they are...even if they're based on something that goes on and on. They can do what they want outside of them in publications and TV...but let the movies just be the movies, by themselves.

y'all don't have any imagination. I'm not being realistic, I'm thinking as a Bat-fan who loves too see Batman! Imagine what we could of saw with the tv series, Riddler, Clayface, Poison Ivy, Penguin, Azrael, etc. the more batman, the better

Nah.

Blake will never be Batman. Why has this madness leaked out of the JGL thread? Contain it before it infects us all!! :funny:

I really don't understand why people want Blake to take over and be the new Batman... I mean, we're not even familiar with this character yet, and people are already assuming he would be a worthy replacement of Bruce Wayne as Batman...

And once again, there will be a reboot after this, there won't be a Batman Beyond kind of **** with JGL as the new Batman.

Marketing-wise, we can see a John Blake action figure with a removable Batman costume that he can wear.

It's not even about realistic...it's unreasonable. Even if we could, doesn't mean we should wen it comes to Blake.

Agreed. The Amazing Spiderman is having a hard time shaking "so it's not a 4th one?" confusion and that original trilogy is nothing compared to Nolan's Batman. A reboot for Batman is going to have to be really different in style and atmosphere.
