If you could make your own forum, what would it be like?

I remember a time that was sort of the 'Wild West' of the internet and they were some great times (though there are some millennials here who may be too young to remember such a time, which makes me feel old and blows my mind), and there are still some places like that on the internetz. It's one of the great things about the internet, really, is that there's something for everybody.

Though of course, its also one of the dangers. Like, you don't want to end up somewhere where ya just get all sorts of porn filth, abuse, trolling flying left and right (or maybe you do).

What I've enjoyed is when there are a number of strong personalities that have free expression and free reign to have fun on a forum. I've also enjoyed the forums where, if two people get into a disagreement and one insults the other, they don't have the recourse of going to a mod. They just sort it out between themselves. Or don't. It isn't the end of the world.

There's a balance of course because you don't want a relatively free forum infected by trolls!

So, what say you?

Similar to SHH, but with far fewer sections, and advanced AI moderation.

Entertainment-based in general without any special emphasis on superheroes.

Oh, yes. And the AI should be programmed by a professional with the intent of distributing to many forums.

Destroy any chance of favoritism. Everything is always fair. Shady-ass admins and mods can be a thing of the past. I don't mean decades into the mists of the distant hypothetical future. The "supermassive black hole" in the room is that it's possible right now.

An impartial AI referee? Haha. I kind of like the idea.

It's parameters could be adjusted, depending on what rules exactly a specific forum has.

I like this one pretty much as is.

Only main thing I would add though is a couple of ProtoSuperHeroHype forums.

An all Pulp Hero Forum page.
For all classic pulp heroes, comic strips, and movie serials based on them.
For any past, potential and upcoming movie projects.

Tarzan, John Carter, Conan, Solomon Kane, Gladiator, Doc Savage, Shadow, Spider, Zorro, The Avenger, Lone Ranger, Green Hornet, Spy Smasher, Rocket Man, Phantom, Dick Tracy, Agent X-9, Flash Gordon, Rocketeer, Sky Captain ...etc...

And maybe another somewhat more Victorian era adventure fiction forum, for past, potential and upcoming films based on creations by the likes of :

Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley, Baroness Emma Orczy, Arthur Conan Doyle, Jules Verne, Robert Louis Stevenson, H. G. Wells, H. P. Lovecraft, H. Rider Haggard, Russell Thorndike, ....etc....

I think I've been to one not long ago.... :hmm

The Admins there are morally reprehensible.

If I had a forum? I do.... and it looks like this :woot:

Which is probably why there are hardly any members! :waa:

i don't need my own forum, but i would add a buy/sell/trade section to this one for fellow fans to swap with one another

Total anarchy as everyone would have mods powers from the get go.

that's basically the fb group i think?
