Major League Baseball 2K6 is the worst sports game I've ever played. And I would get rid of World of Warcraft.

As for reviving, I would revive the MVP Baseball series.

mlb 08 the show is a great game if you have a ps3. the 2k baseball series has been doing really poor recently.

Yea, thats true, but thats due to the fact that Halo pretty much showed everyone how to do it. I felt like this was coming, but when Halo dropped, everyone else was like "Ohhhhh, so thats how you do it"...

I don't know...I was just as big a fan of Goldeneye back then as anyone could be, but have you actually played it lately? It's a pretty crude game and hasn't aged well at all. Halo: Combat Evolved was miles ahead of Goldeneye and even Perfect Dark. Halo 1 was such an absolute perfection of the console FPS that games seven years later still use the same control style and gameplay mechanics. Of course I'm not saying every studio should try to make their game Haloesque, far from it. There is still plenty of room for improvement and much needed innovation.

Of course. Halo will be nearly twenty years old by then. I'm just saying that Halo has had much more of a lasting influence than Goldeneye ever did.

Do you even know what unsubstantiated means? Everything I said about the game is true, then I gave my opinion on it. Snake has a mullet, he is a rip off of Snake Plissken, characters get a big icon over their head to show they are aware or whatever it is they wish to convey, the story deals with both giant robots, and espionage, apparently a box is all you need to fool trained guards, and I can prove that MGS4 has less detail graphically then say

... Mass Effect.

That's the most cliche line ever. It introduced vehicles to multiplayer (I'm pretty sure 007 didn't have the tank in MP ) and AI that hadn't been seen before, not to mention massive multiplayer environments and console hub linking. Oh, and the story blew everything out of the water at the time.

And let's not forget gameplay mechanics like only being able to carry two weapons, the ability to throw grenades without switching to them, and the rechargeable shield.

It doesn't matter. I'm done going back and forth. This thread is for beating up on games. MGS fans have to live with the fact that not everyone loves their game. I think it sucks and deserves to be rid of for the good of mankind. That's simply my opinion. Let it go people. (This last part isn't necessarily directed at you spideyboy.)

Halo may have introduced things to console FPS's, but these are things that had been standards in PC FPS's for awhile. C&C:Renegade pretty much perfected ground vehicle combat a few years before Halo came out. Golden Eye had dual weapon wielding before Halo. I'm sure other FPS's had a 2 weapon limit as well. Half-life and it's mods had perfect MP options and searching abilities, never once had trouble finding the game I wanted to join. Other FPS's have had better stories as well.

I think that's my main gripe. That it's really not innovative, it just took pieces from other FPS's on PC's and brought it to consoles. It wasn't innovative as much as porting exisiting gameplay elements from one format to another. Yet it gets hailed as the best, and most innovative game ever.

Personally I credit Goldeneye for breaking FPS ground on consoles first. Goldeneye had much more restricting technology holding it back, but still delivered solid mp fun. However I understand that ppl find Halo enjoyable, just my opinion.

Really, save yourself the headache and just let it go. I know as well as anyone that he mixes truth in with opinions that are not factual, and when you call him on his opinions he points to the one or two points of fact he added in while ignoring what he was wrong about.

Way I look at it, I'm bashing Halo and others like it. He's bashing MGS while I like it. I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying you won't get anywhere even tho you just showed 100% proof of what you were saying with his opinions and him saying that he only pointed out 100% proven facts.

Great point though, which was also the one I was making. The point of this thread is to beat up on a game you hate. You beat up on Halo, did I make it personal? I beat up on MGS, you didn't make it personal. It's only the MGS fans.
