In Marvel Team-Up #88, Susan Richards, then known as The Invisible Girl (that shows just how long ago the story was set!) is made to venture into Harlem, as part of a plot involving the kidnapping of her son Franklin. The blurb notes that she's uncomfortable, almost scared ( To be fair, the sudden appearance of a prosperous looking white woman-blonde or otherwise, driving a sports car could not have failed to attract attention from the then largely African American residents of this part of new York.
I realise that Sue is no racist but even allowing for the fact that she had previously little if any contact with people of colour during her formative years-being born and raised in the pre-Brown era, she has certainly done so in the years since the FF was formed (pace the Black Panther, their long time ally).
Also just how long does it take for Reed to treat her clothes with unstable molecules(or does she make her own clothes and the give them to Reed for said treating?)

Im not sure if the first part of your post is a question, or a statement...im not familiar with that issue, but it seems odd to me that a woman who has faced down Galactus, The Hulk, Dr. Doom, Super-Skrull, and Annihilus would be "scared" to travel to Harlem....

In regards to Unstable Molecules, Reed treats all the FF's clothing with them, iirc...not sure how long the process takes.
