Infamous: January 08?

well it's not like it got the firmest of release dates, still should be awesome

I'm glad it's not coming out this month since that would stink of rush-job.

And no hype= bad sales. Why would you be excited about a game they don't know about? I'm almost in that category, since not much has been revealed so far. It looks ok, but I need a full-on cutscene/gameplay movie, at least four minutes long. The first one was too much of a teaser.

FINALLY some new info on Infamous. Its the cover story to July's Game Informer

coverof7.jpg

Cover story is Infamous (Game looks ****ing awesome)
- "Infamous begins with a serene, panoramic skyview view of EMpire City on the title screen, with the words "press start flashing". ..once you push start, a massive explosion rips through the heart of the city. Six city blocks are consumed by flame...in the center, a man named Dylan staggers to his feet."
- Dylan doesn't know how he got his powers and starts out apathetic. He then becomes invest in the city...or you can choose not to be at all.
- Dylan can run up rooftops, scrambles across building archtecture, and can seek cover in unlikely nooks and crannies.
- Sucker Punch striving for simple controls to do not so simple things
- Empire City has 3 islands
- After the explosion, the city falls into chaos. A plague makes the govt. quarentine the city. Gangs are formed.
- Dylan's abilities evolve throughout the game
- One fight saw Dylan and his friend Zeke against a bunch of guard. A couple of choices include zapping the mobs and flinging them off the bridge, or using your electricity on the environment (i.e. power generators that may be nearby) to create explosions.
- Sucker Punch says "The hero's powers and te storyline are in support of the gameplay."
- Dylan cannot use firearms since his powers are "always on" (meaning he would set off the gunpowder in bullets). The powers can complicate your actions within the world.
- There will be other "villians" with their own powers that come into play. As well as other normal enemies with powers.
- - Infamous isn't structured like other open world games with a marker on the mini map for your next mission. The team's goal is to create a world where events unfold naturally.
- For example, you're on your way to disarm a bomb, but you notice a woman in the street bleeding and screaming. Time is ticking. What do you do? Your actions affect the world at large. Hence "Infamous".
- Karma system keeps track of your actions ( I assume without showing you? Not sure). Your actions affect the actions of the citizens of the city. They may fight with you or ignore you or even help fight against you. Karma also factors into how your abilities develop.

I just really dig the whole hero/anti-hero approach you can take. Can't wait for more soon

Wonder how it'll stack up next to Prototype. They'll be going to war no doubt next year.

Prototype looks horrible from the last preview that was revealed of it. Hopefully it gets better

This game is the reason I'm buying a PS3 :D

Just looked up that Prototype game...wow

This looks great, but then again so do most superhero free roamers. I'm still giving some hope though....

Right now, this is my most anticipated title for next year

Agreed.

Sucker Punch made one of my all-time favourite franchises last gen.

The Sly series always had super slick gameplay, awsome production values, and a great cast.

I absolutely can't wait to see what they have in store for their PS3 debut.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Anybody know if flying is a power?

This game looks good but i wouldn't say most anticipated game for me i think that the most anticipated game next year for me atleast is Killzone 2 which is coming out in Feb.

So 2 exclusives for Sony in the beginning of next Year. Wouldn't it be cool if Sony had a exclusive for each month next year?

Check out Prototype
I have and it looks bad :(. I was pumped for it too until I saw a gameplay video on Gamestop and it looked too generic and clunky. Given it was an alpha build, but it didnt impress me. Hopefully they improve upon it bc I didnt care for what I saw. I'll give it a chance though but it isnt exactly on my radar anymore

Me too. The GI preview had me psyched, but seeing in action... Idk. I just don't think it will do IH: UD the justice it deserves, being the spiritual sequel and all.

Prototype has a ****load of promise. I think I'll be getting both these games when they come out.
