Horror Insidious 6 | August 2026

I hope it improves on the last one which I thought was a step up from 3 and 4, although nowhere near as good as 1 and 2.

Meh this series has run its course to me. The last one was descent and a debut from Patrick Wilson behind the camera but overall it was a forgettable film. As someone who was a fan of the 1st which to me had a cultural impact in 2010 they have explored the lore from every film onwards but has dropped in quality since every entry. A lack of James Wan's input? ... i personally believe so. Seems like this franchise has been handed over to inexperienced directors for a stepping stone to other projects.

It tells you a lot how talented Wan is to take what is essentially his own twist on Poltergeist and make it as good as it was. This franchise and The Conjuring Universe need to retire now.

Sony has given the Aug. 29 release date originally set for “Insidious 6″ to Darren Aronofsky‘s crime thriller “Caught Stealing,” starring Austin Butler. The next “Insidious” entry has been pushed nearly a year, to Aug. 21, 2026.

Details of the upcoming installment in the Insidious franchise are being kept under wraps, but the film is expected to be another prequel to the first film. Lin Shaye will be reprising her role as “Elise Rainier.” Details surrounding Eve’s character are sparse but she is set to portray the lead, a single mother who suffers from a traumatic past.

Didn’t the last one make the most money for this series? Couple that with it being horror, I’m actually surprised we’re not on Insidious X: In Space! yet.

I've never seen an Insidious movie but every time I see this thread title I think of this:

I totally forgot that a series called Insidious exists. When I saw this thread, I assumed it was some Western like Hateful 8.

I just re-binged all but Skeleton Key and first time seeing #5.

Forgot how GREAT the first one was. Sequel was not bad but a slight step down. 3 was....ok and im here for prequels centering around Elise since I love her but she deserves better (they all do). Red Door.....had potential, but it was very weak. I LOVED that they brought back the original cast, esp the kids who are now grown but they just didnt hit the mark.

You can tell they really regretted offing Elise in the first one. She is the true staple for the franchise.
