James Wan and Leigh Whannell's Insidious

He's getting better but I'm just not a fan of Wan. The make up in his movies are so bad that they take me right out of the movie.

Sinister was good but those kids look like they were made up during an amish hay ride.

This film was the comedy event of 2011. I enjoyed it. Bring up Chapter 2.

Hmm. I was pretty ambivalent about the first one, since the ending seemed like a really dumb stinger just tacked on for the sake of it--but if they're continuing the story, I'm interested.

Wan didn't direct Sinister.

Looks like nice and creepy. I'll check it out.

Although, I wonder how many of the scares were already shown in the trailer?

Anyone else notice the drawing on the blackboard at school? Teh jigsaw!

I watched this for the third time a few nights ago, my wife hadn't seen it yet. I can't believe it took me three times to notice the puppet face from the Saw movies on the blackboard. It wasn't even small, it was practically in your face.

I look forward to the sequel, if my wife and I weren't saving up money for a house I would have seen The Conjuring as well. I'm starting to like Wan quite a bit.

What was so funny about it? At a guess, probably the last half since most people hate it for that reason.

I actually loved the last half of the film. Off the top of my head I can't remember the last horror film that went in that direction. I guess they should have just done some kind of exorcism ending...because we haven't had enough of those movies this past decade. :whatever:

The two Ghostbusters were hilarious. Most people who agree that it turned into a comedy say its because of them. Although they do back off the bit after a while. So happy they are in the sequel. I think people hated the ending [BLACKOUT]because Patrick Wilson was suddenly possessed and the trailers for this act like that didn't happen. [/BLACKOUT]

This had some weird product placement in Pretty Little Liars last night. Two characters watched a TV spot (we also saw the TV spot) and then said how it looks better than the first. It was strange and awesome.

Finally watched the first movie, but is this really a sequel? It looks more like a remake considering that [BLACKOUT]the original film ended with the father possessed, yet this one doesn't have that at all, it's just about the kid again [/BLACKOUT]

I've never heard of product placement for films outside of posters, or maybe some kind of tie in guest appearance. That sounds really bizarre.

Insidious was a decent film aside from the run of the mill cliffhanger ending. My thing is, no American horror film will ever scare me anymore. Maybe it's because I'm not a teenager anymore. I find half of the things funny. Like in The Conjuring when the girl was being thrown around the house by her hair, I was dying in the theater. Or in The Possession when the grandma opens the box and the demon comes out and whoops her ass. It's hilarious.

Naw, it still is. The trailer shows that something is still [blackout]wrong with Patrick Wilson's character. They even say that he wasn't the same since he came back to the real world.[/blackout]

[BLACKOUT]But didn't his wife discover that already? What now? She's playing along as if it was her husband? [/BLACKOUT]

I honestly have no idea how they're going to incorporate the ending of the first one. I was wondering that too. It'll probably be a dream sequence/hallucination that Wilson's character is having.

Whatever little song/melody they're using in the TV spots creeps me the **** out.

Rose Byrne was on Leno last night and the clip they showed seemed to indicate that Chapter 2 picks up immediately where the first movie ended. Literally, immediately - as in they're still in the house and Rose Byrne's character picks up the camera. I thought that was pretty cool and hope that's the actual beginning of Chapter 2.

Can't wait for this Friday, hope it's at least as good The Conjuring was.

Btw, Rose Byrne was looking unhealthily thin on Leno. Hope she's doing ok....

I normally don't see horror movies, but how can I not see a movie where BOTH leads appear on my cheating immunity list(s)! :awesome:

Seeing an Insidious double feature tomorrow night at the Skyview Drive In! Supposed to get down to about 60 tomorrow night. I am very excited.
