Since the Divergent sequel started shooting today, I guess we can make a separate thread for this.

Seems like Octavia Spencer is the only new cast member, while the surviving characters are returning. Of course, Robert Schwentke is directing and the screenplay is by Brian Duffield and Akiva Goldsman this time.

The teaser trailer online today here 8am PT/11am ET http://t.co/a7wVZYcKHA:

Apparently a leaked version of the trailer was posted online from actress Ashley Judd on twitter.

Madness...

Wow, that was fast. What's the rush? Divergent came out this year.

All of these types of movies come out one year after the other. Twilight, Hunger Games, and now Divergent.

The teaser trailer makes no sense.
Her mom was killed near the end of the first film, which makes me think it's either a dream or something specifically filmed for the teaser.

So is Tris a superhero now?

The teaser is good, but obviously this is a sequence filmed for the promotion. This part is not in the book.

I can see why Tris cut her hair, but it's such a disconnect between the previous film and this one.

Yeah there's a big Tron influence on the designs this time around. WIth the LED lines everywhere.

This series is a hard read for me because I don't know if it's actually faithful to the book or not; and reading comments from readers aren't reliable. I mean, how detailed was the world building was in the books to make some interesting design choices for Insurgent? I think some readers had a "Hunger Games" vibe, something that the producers of Divergent want to step away from visually.

I've only read the synopsis from Wikipedia. This looks nothing like I expected based on the first film. A different kind of boring.

Yeah it's really hard to tell if the book's anything like this on a visual level; or if it's so vaguely described that the director took liberties with it.
