According to the Los Angeles Times, Warner Bros. and production house Legendary Pictures are in talks to start shooting the sequel to Louis Letterier's remake of Clash of the Titans as early as next January with director Jonathan Liebesman (Darkness Falls, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and the upcoming Battle: Los Angeles) as one of the frontrunners to take over the directing chores.

Clash of the Titans has grossed $486.8 million worldwide since opening a little over two months ago with roughly a third of that being in the United States, and like with Guy Ritchie's sequel to Sherlock Holmes, the studio is hoping to strike while the iron is hot, as well as to attain the services of returning star Sam Worthington before he's drawn back in to start filming James Cameron's Avatar Sequel later next year.

The "Clash" sequel will be filmed in 3D rather than converted after-the-fact, but so far, there's been no word whether any of the rest of the surviving cast (or any of the Greek Gods played by Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes et al) will be returning for the sequel.

I like the director's other work, but thats just me, and I wanna know more about that Battle LA movie. I know its about Aliens in LA and that's it.

Ugh. I was hoping this would be one of those sequels that never happen.

Darkness Falls sucked balls. Never saw TCM:B

Hey quit lolly gagging! Someone paid to see the movies, now you gotta deal.

Either that or not just enter the thread.

Seriously, is this all the thread is gonna be whiny babies? Oh, I forgot that's every thread on the hype, forgive me.:oldrazz:

Can't wait to hear the studio's justification for this.

Although I didn't like the remake it's not impossible for the sequel to be an improvement. I usually try to be open minded about films that haven't even released a trailer so i'll wait for more info and a teaser before I judge anything yet.

LOL! Dude I swear. The ladies in 2 girls one cup have better taste than you.

Do you intentionally pick *****ty movies to defend, or is your radar so messed up that you actually want to see this crap? & actually think they are good?

But why post in a thread when one doesn't have any interest whatsoever ?
POstcount boost ?
I didn't care at all about PoP and the only time i posted in the thread was my comment on the trailer ,my review and some subsequent BO discussions.

If people don't have anything useful to post in this thread instead of "oMG , do no want sequel" etc , what even bother ?

Anyways back to the topic.
It's no surprise that WB is moving forward with the sequel. It made back it's budget. Not to mention that when COTT was first announced , it was planned as a franchise of at least 3 movies. Like it or not the movie was succesful so we are getting a sequel.
Though i still have feeling that that WB's 3-d move on COTT was to reduce losses because LL screwed up badly.
Here is something that i wrote in the original COTT thread :

The movie definately is profitable for WB. I was thinking about this a couple of days ago . With the news of the movie being drastically different then when online journalists were allowed to visit the set , 2 things could've happened
1 WB screwed with the production.
To me at least this seems a bit unlikely because they have given many directors creative freedom in the past to make their movies. Nolan , the wachowski's , francis lawrence. The list goes on. So it's surprising to me that they would screw up the movie so bad.
Which brings to to point 2

2 Louis Letterier screwed up Clash Of The Titans
It's a well known fact that Edward Norton had a active hand is making TIH. He rewrote the script and the even rumors of him not being happy with the first cut and even been there in the editing room. Eventually everything was just written off as creative decisions . To be honest LL & Norton were both against Marvel but it could've very been LL just doing what Norton wanted.
Same thing could've happened here only this time there wasn't someone like Norton to back LL and WB took actions such as asking/demanding reshoots . It also would make sense why they decided to use the 3-d. Rather then going for a quick buck , they took a gamble of using half assed 3-d to save themselves from financial disaster. Certainly it has helped them.
THere are reports that that some exec. inside WB have been unhappy with the COTT conversion but the top heads of WB have taken a unified stance in justifying their decision.

So the 3-d could've been a used as damage control . Certainly other WB movies have better 3-d. The potter movies , Guardians Of Ga'Hoole .

Who knows. Maybe they will use elements of the first draft as well as the cut script elements of this COTT to make a proper movie.
At least the 3-d will be better :oldrazz:

Louis Leterrier was so into making this a trilogy and now he bailed the minute the movie flopped critically and at the boxoffice lol. Or maybe WB was just too bossy around him. CHUD had a nice looking article about how the film was butchered, but I didn't read it as it contained lot of spoilers and I haven't seen the flick yet.

Let this be a lesson to us all.

i like the director attached...... but god no not another one....

LOL! Cute kid.

Don't know where the story can go from here. Most of the cool mythological creatures are dead, too.

Oh well. At least we have Tarsem's upcoming Immortals.
