Dent could of been played off as a DA helping Batman and Gordon take down the mob like in Batman Year One comic.

Dent had about two scenes in Year One. His role was forgettable in Year One. Begins was better developing the relationship/trust between Batman and Gordon.

Dent would have been a fifth wheel.

Dent always gets the shaft as a character first in Batman Returns, then in Batman Begins.

Harvey Dent was originally going to be introduced in Batman Begins but they replaced him with the character of Rachel Dawes.

According to this taken from Wikipedia:



I assume the friendship between Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent was going to be originally fully established in Batman Begins.

It would have been interesting to see how it would have been if this idea was actually used and besides I didn't like the Rachel Dawes character, it would have been better if they introduced Talia Al Ghul, instead.

Yeah Talia & Harvey should've been interesting to see, maybe w could've been see more Two-Face in The Dark Knight.

According to IMBD, Cillian Murphy originally auditioned for the role of Batman in BB, but got the Scarecrow role based on the strength of his performance.

Yea I read about that a couple years back, I find it neat since I thought Cillian did a great job as Crane.
