Anyone else catch it?

Is anyone else really getting sick of Obama? The guy says he isn't here to play politics as usual, that he isn't here to point fingers and that seems to be all he is doing in these debates. The question is how candidates would handle a withdrawl from Iraq...his response "The other people on the stage need to be asking why they approved to go into Iraq to begin with."

Yay, great...they voted for the Iraq war, we know. What good is pointing fingers in that context? I seriously am beginning to think the entire no platform thing is entirely intentional and he is just running out of ways to hide that he has no clue how to run a country.

I have'nt watched it, but if whta you say is true, then yeah i really no confidence in him running for presidency. Not that I had considered him tho.

I hate every single one of the candidates.

Edwards story to the "Turning point in your life that made you want to run for President" question felt so rehearsed.

It probably was. They get these questions before hand, even if they say otherwise.

Obama is the only one on that stage that can get elected to the office they're running for. I'd put Edwards second, with Hillary just behind Kucinich.

Oh, and he's the smartest one on the stage as well.

Obama did great considering the attacks that came his way lately.

When in doubt, sling dirt at the other candidate and be roundabout. Oh, and try and recognize the issues that you'll be answering even in your presidency if you're elected. But do the first part whenever possible.

If only he'd get off the offensive and start laying out a platform he might not make a half bad candidate. Really, other candidates voting for war is hardly any kind of way to answer a question about pulling out. Every question that deals with policy he avoids. He has no platform.

Obama can't win middle America. No matter how many people say race isn't an issue when put on the spot in the poll, when they are in the voting booth, alone...it will be. Its sad. But its true. Obama can't win.

Oh, and he's the smartest one on the stage as well.

Forgetting a certain Noble Prize nominee? Richardson is smarter than every candidate up there put together. Unfortunately he is fat, Latino, and ugly so he has no chance. Such a wonderful state our political system is in

Edwards is a waste of space on this campaign....
Obama is a great guy, and would make a great vice-president but he just does not have the experience to be president....
Hillary, IMO, is the only viable choice on the Democratic side.....and I think it will be her in the end...

Hehe. All the democratic nominees look fine to me and would all make excellent presidents. :)

The problem with Obama is, he is going so out of his way to play the "outsider" card...he is pretty much pissing off all the other candidates. Notice he is the only one on the hard core offensive towards other Democratic candidates? It is what cost McCain the VP office in 2000 and what will cost Obama the VP nomination now.

I thought it was because McCain was old- oh wait, almost forgot about Cheney...

I think it's obvious you don't like Obama, Matt and hate the idea that so many see him as a refreshing candidate as oppose to a no experience Hillary, who will win the Democratic nomination because of name recognition and her Socialist Agenda mostly.

This is why America is fastly decaying internal, because we ridicules good intension people for selfish, agenda driven people....

I don't think anyone Obamas.

EDIT: Darn you and your quick edit.

Um no, Obama has no experience. Fact. He's been in the senate, what 3 years?

I don't dislike him because he has "good intentions and is a noble savior." In fact, I don't dislike Obama at all. I nothing him. I have no reason to. He has no platform. How can anyone honestly decide to vote him for our country's highest office when he refuses to lay out the slightest thing resembling a platform. Whenever asked what his policies would be, he resorts to either

A) Saying something obscure or intangible like "We need hope" or "We need faith"

or

B) Now apparently he insults other candidates to avoid giving his own views.

Thats the kind of president I want.

P.S.: I don't support Hilary, I support Richardson.

Does anyone here have a rational reason for voting for Hillary?

Name recognition. Neither Hilary or Obama will last. They are running on pure hype...and well, we see what happens to candidates like that *cough cough, Howard Dean, cough cough*. I still expect Gore to jump in. If he doesn't, Edwards will win the primary (in no small part due to the poll boosts brought on by his wife's illness/death at some point in the near future). Edwards/Richardson vs Thompson or Huckabee/Giulliani is my pick for the 2008 general election.

I know you support Richardson, Matt. I read alot of your post and was speaking in general "to people seeing him as refreshing".

He has on several occasions laid out a specific platform that is not as Liberal as Edwards, more to the center actually. I post political reminders all the time here about debates, interviews, and platforms, and my post tend to get ignored. Obvious because I'm not well liked here. I try to inform people to look at the issues from there own mouths and what how many pander and flip-flop to certain groups and demographics. How they are playing politics.

So I do have a hard time understanding why people say, in Obama's defense, why he don't have a platform we he has address it several times. It like the media says he don't so everyone believe he don't regardless that he has actually laid it out on the table. Also the media tends show and report what they want you to see and hear, how much do you hear about some of the other so-called second teir or even third teir candiddates, because the media are selecting who the candidates will be.

Wishful thinking.

His so called "platform" is vague as hell and you know it. Any time he is asked to get into specifics he runs and hies behind his vague rhetoricals. I get that you like him, but you cannot deny the fact that he has gone out of his way to avoid specifics.
