Iron Man 2 Iron Man armor - Official Discussion Thread

Has anyone actually seen the full armor with the triangular chest piece ?

What's the difference between Mark 3 and 4 armor?

Probably also will have more technical changes which we can't ascertain visually. Like greater energy efficiency allowing for faster & longer flight, greater strength amplification, greater durability, etc.

Don't think, that we'll see the Stealth Armor Mode, 'cause it would've been just TOO much for one movie.

We allready have: Mark IV, Mark V and some other Mark (that Redd can't tell us 'bout, but I don't blame her. Let the girl tell the info, WHEN THE TIME comes!) + War Machine Armor.

Don't even want to think 'bout the villain stuff. Maybe, Whiplash will get the suit, mb don't... who actually knows? But, if Justin Hammer will put on the Firepower suit, it will be really TOO much. So, I hope, that 4 IM suits + 2 villain armors is enough for one movie. That's why, there is no place for the Stealth mode or armor.

The suit Redd can't tell us about is Mark V. She can't acknowledge it's existence nor share details about it's Design and background. I have not seen any indication of Mark VI whatsoever.

And Mark IV or Mark V could easily convert into Stealth mode, like the Videogame.

I'd really like to see in later movies the deep sea water suit. I just remember seeing a cartoon once where Iron man was searching deep sea and had an emergency and shot out of the water after it. And when he got clear of the water, the deep sea suit broke away from his normal armor. I can't even remember if I actually saw it, but I remember something like that.

Maybe it's still Mark V or Mark VI. None of us can be so sure 'bout Tony's sequel armors. The only armor, that everyone can be sure 'bout is Mark IV and War Machine.

I'm not really think 'bout the possibility of the converting thing. + LIKE in the video game. Of course it's easy to do so in the game, but not in the movie. + why do IM needs the stealth mode, if it's:
a) drains too much energy of the armor.
b) turns the weapons system off.
c) Special effects are too expensive + too much CGI.

But again, maybe you're right. I don't know. One thing is comics, and the other one is Marvel Movieverse, where everything is possible))

I'd love to see him take his armor all the way into space(they were thinking of doing that with the end fight in the first movie, but it just didn't work out). I'd love to see his space armor or see him working on a satellite or something like that. I don't think we're ready for his regular armor to get him all the way to the moon and back like it currently is in the comics, but seeing him in space would be cool.

Obviously we'll get a Mark IV with some continuity AND a few changes. I'd love to see the Hulkbuster, Stealth and Silver Centurion somewhere in the mid-to-near future. I'd also love to see Tony get the Extremis upgrade too. That's the armor I love the most.

The Extremis armor is cool, but I don't think Tony should use the Extremis in the movieverse. It overpowers him.

The Silver Centurion actually appeared in Iron Man. Before Jarvis made the Mark III model, he showed a Silver Centurion model.

I'd love to see the Hulkbuster (In The Avengers, maybe?), the Stealth, the Underwater and the Spacial one too. :woot:

I think if they used the Extremis armor in the Third movie (after the Avengers movie, and after an Avengers movies in continuity) Then it could be good. They can have the Mandarin's 10 rings be too much, and Tony needs something to opporate the suit more efficiecntly.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that about the Silver Centurion tho!

It could be good, but I'm still against it. To Each with it's own.

The stealth armor is War Machine, isn't it?

Stan Lee, as Larry King, supposedly asks Tony about the black stealth armor. I could be wrong, but that's what I heard.

But, speaking of Mark IV and V...could IV be the streamlined version and V is the version of that teaser poster, with the triangle chest unibeam?

And I can't see the Extremis armor, and only because, I think that concept is stupid, and also, the Mark III design was basically a copy of the Extremis suit.

No. The Stealth Suit it's a stealth suit. And I doubt Lee will be Larry King. I don't trust NukedTheFridge.com.

Stan Lee will be Stan Lee in a Marvel Movie.

...

Meaning. He'll just be there for a few split seconds, no matter what he does.

Has anyone noticed that the armor on the cover of EW is different (slightly) than the armor shown at comic-con? That, plus the possibility of a triangle chest model and the confirmation of war-machine brings a total of 4 possible armors that this movie may feature.

From the looks of it, not to much. The Mark IV more streamlined tho. He also could have upgraded the boot jets and repulsors.

I don't mean to be a whiner but I like the Mark III a lot better judging from the Comic Con display. I'm sure I'll love the film but bulkier looks better to me. Bigger shoulder pads work and look less like plastic. Maybe it's just me.

Agree! The armor on the EW cover looked slightly different from the MK IV Armor. The armor resembled the Pre-Extremis Armor (with the different chestplate). Here it is! Take a look:

i think the movie armor is under the text. on the left i guess its a comicbook painting.

Man, that's not the point)) I know that, I created the image myself to show everyone, how alike the EW cover Armor and Granov's Pre-Extremis Armor.
