Iron Man vs Black Panther

I'm sure after a warmup against the Surfer, (C'mon she Beat THANOS!) , Galactus will have to pack a lunch and call for help if he wants to win this one.

Eternity's got his back.

Because you don't know any better. :woot: It's it's been said time and time again that those movie are not canon.

And yeah that is the case with Sue I believe. I don't think it'd be easy to sneak up on her though, but if someone could they could easily knock her out, also there'd have to be some kind of plan for when she wakes up pissed off. lol

Yeah I know it's not canonn...but the characters are essentially the Ultimate counterparts. And it was pushed as Ultimate Black Panther's first apperance. Hence I said it's as close as we will come to the Ultimate Cap /BP battle...untill he pops up in the ultimate comics that is :)

Im actually surprised he hasn't yet. People like me who arent uber familiar with him could be introduced to him without years of continuty. I thought he was pretty neat in the movie, though.

616 Panther >>>>>. Ultimate Panther (movie version). I actually really enjoy ultimates but their 616 counterparts are just way more powerful, but then again the Ulitimate universe is supposed to be more grounded in reality.

BP is supposed to make his Ultimate debut in the next volume, the first issue should be out around 2012 right after the current one wrap up. :woot:

To THIS DAY, they best introuduction to the BP character is Priest's frist arc "The Client" the whole story is told from the prespective of a guy who used to think Panther was just some black dude in a suit who was a background avenger. It's really good stuff, lots of action, REALLY funny, and tons of bad ass panther moments. :woot:

Your info is incomplete, because the update would put BP at a disadvantage for that.
??
I'm saying the Panther loses the first Go-round AFTER Extremis.

What did I miss?

Im still trying to unlock BP on ultimate alliance :(

I dunno....I know 616 are supposed to be more powerful and stuff, but maybe its because the action scenes are so well done but the ultimates just seem so much tougher for the most part...or at least hulk and cap. ultimate cap seems to be way stronger than 616 cap, going toe to toe with hulk, and hulk just seems so much more vicious and strong....but I know 616 hulk has done insane (ie stupid) lol type things before. I guess thats just how it seems to me (although I know you are right and the handbook backs your statement up).

I wait for trades, so I am STILL waiting for the ultimates final volume (or millars anyway) :( imagine how I feel :( and god knows when or if hulk vs wolverine will be finished.

Man I miss deadlines :(

The part where the device inside of Tony that allowed Hinsen's kid to control him was "digested" out of Tony's system, making him immune for a second round of that.

Heh,...
With the The Champion (with Gem) as a tag mate and the GrandMaster playing Ref,.... I'd buy that comic.

I would too. If anything, just to really see them do it.

Yeah I Hitch's action sequences are amazing and perfectly fit the more realistic tone the Ultimates have.

And I've giving up on Ultimate Hulk vs Wolverine..If you hadn't brought it up just now I'd have completely forgotten about it.

I think Black Panther would defeat the Iron man because Black panther has a vibranium suit that is almost like a bullet proof vest. The Black Panther has way better fighting stlye than Iron man. And I dont think Iron Man can defeat the fantastic four single handily.but I think Iron man would give the Black Panther a run for his money. I think Black Panther would win.

Iron Man for the gold my friends.

multiple reasons

1.) I like Tony Stark and I like Iron Man. I like the conservative, capitalist, self-improving guy Tony has been for a while. I stopped picking up Marvel other than DP shortly before CivilWar( just can't stand Marvel right now) but I've always been a Tony fan.

2.) Range, T'challa doesn't have it, Tony does. He's got repulsor rays, the chest beam, blah blah blah, heck throw him in some War Machine armour and he's got missiles and all kinds of stuff. Tony can reign down fire from the sky and T'Challa can't do squat about that.

3.) Flight- IM can fly, and pretty darn fast, one good hit from a IM moving at Mach3 and you can bet money BP is gonna be feeling it tomorrow morning

4.) Intelligence- this one is close, really really close, BP is almost as smart as Tony, but if it came down to just smarts, I think Tony slightly edges him out for the win.

Anyway, I give it to Tony 8/10
but you guys gotta realize, I haven't read any new Marvel comics other than Deadpool&Cable in over a year, so I'm behind the times on recent developments...

dude Iron man would get his butt kicked by fantastic four. Black Panther beat fantastic four. I think that the Black Panther would outsmart Iron Man and take him for the kill. Iron Man underestimates his enemies too much I think Black Panther would beat Iron Man.:woot:

Cap and BP have had no reason to fight, the last time they fought was maybe in the 90's and like most of their fights it was a draw with an edge to Cap. About Sue and the Thing, its all about the famous prep time, this guy is the ruler of the most technically advance country in the world, if anyone could find a way to subdue and beat both of them its BP (Doom would be able to as well). I hate using the Prep Time argument because even though its valid, the Batman fanboys have made a mockery of it.

They fought in Contest Of Champions II, and Cap beat T'Challa.

Panther fought the FF one at a time, on his home turf....given the same advantages and circumstances, i'd say Tony Stark has an equal shot at a victory over the FF...

Wow an old thread of mine :D

You forgot that Iron Man's powers has been improving since the 60's. He could kick any of the F4s' butt (save the kinky one for the hot MILF). Reed Richards is a fan of him you know. Current Extremis Iron Man in full force would burn Black Panther. Both guys are equally smart, but Iron Man's ability powers improve exponentially while BP tend to be, how do I say this, reactionary?

While Mr. Stark tends to belittle his opponent, Iron Man would not underestimate BP anymore after getting beaten everytime. And please ask Stan Lee which Marvel heros improve his powers at the fastest rate. I bet it's the Invincible Iron Man.

Ow, now I speak like Stan Lee.

4.) Intelligence- this one is close, really really close, BP is almost as smart as Tony, but if it came down to just smarts, I think Tony slightly edges him out for the win.

BP is as smart as Tony. Equally smart I say. Tchalla is more of the pure scientist, pulling one formula one at a time like Reed. Tony is sort of an implementor, building tangible things from a half-baked formula. If Tony and Reed has a combat robot competition to make in 1 hour, Stark would win. If Tony and BP has a gun-making competition of who makes the best in 1 hour, Stark would win.

But I guess BP is better in memorizing stuff, like that 69 digits code in CW #7

Iron Man would not underestimate BP anymore after getting beaten everytime.

Actually, BP has not beaten Iron MAn everytime. In Avengers #106, the Space Phantom tricks, BP, IM, Hawkeye, and Scarlett Witch into fighting, and Iron Man mopped the floor with Black Panther.

Mildly surprized he brought this back "on Top".

Meh. From the first post you can read the bias.

He basically believes that if (for example) Henry Ford and the Ford Motor Company Got into it with the United States,.... that Of Course the CAR COMPANY WINS.

.
Tsk.

Aloha,
I'm pleased to announce that one of the most respected story lines within the Black Panther Mythos-Panther's Quest, is now available for reading in the Library.
In 1989,Panther's Quest was presented in a 25 comic (8 pages average) story arc within the pages of Marvel Comics presents #13-37. Written by Donald F. McGregor and drawn by Gene Colan.Issue #13 sets the stage for the story arc. Titled " A Rumor of Life". T'Challa goes to then Apartheid South Africa in search of his mother who has been kidnapped.
While reading the story, please pay careful attention to the first 2 pages of chapter 10. After reading those pages, tell me how you think T'Challa's name is supposed to be pronounced.
Regarding Modern Age Iron Man vs Black Panther. This new extremis Iron Man suit, has not been fully revealed. From what I saw in Mighty Avengers #1, it's the Ultimate Iron Man suit. The challenge for Tony Stark vs T'Challa is that Vibranium, absorbs all forms of energy.Wakanda is one of the most technological societies IN THE WORLD as a result of both the brains and leadership skills of T'challa. He and Tony Stark have more toys(battlegear and armaments) than anybody. Which is why it's such a great time to be a Iron Man or Black Panther fan. Both characters are equally matched in brains, money and cunning. But if Tony Stark is Iron Man then T'Challa is Vibrainium Man. Vibrainium (Wakandan and Antartic) trumps all metal. My money is on BP.

are you saying this is wrong donald?

I'm sure IM will try to nullify Vibranium's advantage, like hurling BP to void. But BP will counter that. The point is, Vibranium is not the final solution. The strongest Vibranium is when its fused with other alloys making Cap's shield. BP's Vibranium is not the strongest.

He and Tony Stark have more toys(battlegear and armaments) than anybody. Which is why it's such a great time to be a Iron Man or Black Panther fan.

I'm sure Stark has more ideas in producing toys. After all he's THE inventor of the Marvel universe, no question about it. Read Mighty Avengers #1? New Crimson + Gold SHIELD helicarrier. Read the last Iron Man issue? Repulsor assault rifles.

Both characters are equally matched in brains, money and cunning. But if Tony Stark is Iron Man then T'Challa is Vibrainium Man. Vibrainium (Wakandan and Antartic) trumps all metal. My money is on BP.

Brains = Iron Man
Money = BP
Cunning = BP

Iron Man is just a moniker now. He's more of the Information Man now, able to program snippets for any electronics and info junction in the world. My money is on IM, albeit slightly. Lets agree to disagree.

Spidey rules except in Wakanda

Agree, but I don't want you blurt that out in front of thousands of Spidey fans. In a battle royale IM vs BP vs Spidey where losers vanish from Comics, I think Spidey takes the cake. Guess what, I like Spidey more than IM or BP, so I'll put the finishing mace on your head.

I don't. Read the post date, delinquent.

So? You can carry your own bias. I carry my own. Forbidden in this forum? I think not.

I don't get it. Do you mean the US is Ford Motor Company (since Stark now represent SHIELD and the US) and United States is Wakanda?

No, I still don't get it.

Aloha,
I spoke to an African comic book reader several years ago. We as Americans can butcher foreign names. If you read the first two pages of chapter 10 of Panther's Quest, a mercenary is corrected when you pronounces the T sound in T'Challa's name. The African that I spoke to said it really should be Challa not Ta Challa. But both are considered correct. In the Avengers 2 cartoon, it's pronounced with the hard T sound.Think Tchaikovsky.
