I dunno bout you guys but my image of ironman's been completely destroyed, i cant even look at a picture of iroman anymore without thinking bout all the messed up stuff he's pulling now. What do you guys think his stat quo will be like after the war is over. I think its safe to say his relationship with cap america is destroyed, i have no idea what he'll be doing after this...unless they kill him off during this war....

Don't worry, Dr. Strange may cast a mind wiping spell and everything is forgotten.

But seriously, I still like the man in the iron suit.

Same here, and after reading Iron Man#13 (kick a$$ issue), I know more where Tony's coming from.

Tony's always been a grandstanding, manipulative, self righteous, controlling a-hole. But he's still a hero and he's still sacrificing, and he still has good intentions

Civil War hasnt really changed anything

and I still like Iron Man, just not as much as I like Cap

I respectfully disagree...to me CW has turned Ironman who was always deeply flawed hero, but yet still a hero to a villain in my eyes. A villain who at times is quite sympathetic and honestly believes himself to be doing good..but a villain nonetheless. (Which doesn't make him less interesting to me at least but to others I think it might.) It's possible time might change my views on the subject, (and that of a lot of other fans whose opinions on Tony are not fit to repeat in mixed company,) but for now he's on shaky moral ground with us. In the meantime I don't see how he's going to salvage his relationships with Peter Parker or Cap, particularly if they are still fugitives after all this is over, (and that would be yet another reason for fans to hold a grudge against Tony.) Of course you could argue he might be in a position of greater personal power than ever when all this is finished since he might become the head of SHIELD...but at what cost to all his former connections to the super-hero community?

Interesting take.

I still think Tony's cool, (granted I cant wait for someone, preferably Thor, to kick his tail but good) and its not the first time he's fallen out with Cap.

Let's not foget that Tony manipulated his best friend into taking his place while he was thought dead, had the schism with Cap over the decision to kill the supreme intelligence, killed Marilla and Yellow Jacket II in cold blood during the crossing, basically disbanded the Avengers west coast to form a hard hitting 'pro-active' team in Force Works. (i'm sure there's more)

And he and Cap have always gotten over it and become chums again. Its a cycle for Tony. He's a dick for a year then he saves the world and everyone lets bygones be bygones

just my opinion

It's rumored that he'll be taking over as the head of SHIELD and somebody new will be wearing the Armor.

Buy you know, Starks always been a bit of a *****e. Not much of a change for me.

I honestly believe that CW isnt gonna clear anything up. I think that in the end the Anti Reg side is gonna lose and this is gonna cause a year of heroes fighting heroes until World War Hulk. Hulk and his armada is gonna come to earth and beat the crap out of everyone and this will force the two sides to re unite to stop the Hulk.......it's how i'd do it

Iron Man is totally a supervillain. Heroes don't clone old friends to use as weapons against their other friends.

Anyone who takes the side of the government rather than the side of right and wrong is evil. Just cuz its the law doesnt make it right. Just ask the people who live in Uzbekistan.

Yo Roach , it think you hit the nail on the head. I too think civil war isnt gonna clear anything up, its just a setup for the new marvel status quo. I think everyone expects the pro reg side to lose of course, but i think marvel's gonna throw a serious curve ball and anti reg lose. This is gonna piss ALOT of people off, but i wouldnt be surprised. Sad thing is, its probably the realistic solution, you cant go against the government, the government always wins. This may be the first time the underdogs lose...

I know its Iron Man whos leading the charge for the reg side and all, but comeon, its not just him, he may be hitler but people are still following his orders. Evil succeds when good men do nothing, the enitre reg side has lost my respect. You can never just blindly follow orders. and reed is just as much to blame as tony for the thor clone. I just wish that Iron man wasnt so strong cause i would really love to see cap beat the **** out of him all by himself.

Iron Man also manipulated Sentry into joining the pro reg side very similar to the way Palpetine manipulated Anakin into turning to the "Dark Side". Hes a snake.

i can completely understand where iron man is coming from. i wouldn't feel comfortable, after an incident like stamford, living in a world where there were so many unregistered and unknown super powered beings.

so youd prefer totalitarian safety, living under the 50 states initiative, rather than enjoy your freedom, **** happens people die, stamford doest happen every day, it doesnt happen every year, sure maby some superheros need restrictions, but the reg act goes way too far

.

This is the one part of the registration that i have sympathy with. If this were real life, then yea I too would feel unsafe with random untrained superbeings running around the place using their powers. if you don't know how to control your powers then yea you could be potentially dangerous to society. HOWEVER, the thing is the registration act is going about the situation wrong. I mean they're hiring SUPERVILLAINS to capture the heroes. Is it right to have the same man who killed Gwen Stacy go after Spider-Man? Is it right to have a dangerous maniac like Bulleseye go after Daredevil? Plus their locking up super heroes in this super prison. What the registration act needs to do is create a new much stricter policy on super villains, lock THEM up in that prison and i guarantee you the crime rate will go down. If there are no more super villains, then they'll be none left for amateur heroes like speedball to crash into a school bus...

And to deal with untrained heroes like speedball they should create a mandatory program that helps them control their powers and trains them before they go out saving people. Sort of like prof x's school. Thats how i would do it at least...

Well judging from the preview scans on Mighty Avengers, its pretty obvious it aint Tony in the armor. Doesnt sound like him at all, so i definitly see him taking the Head of Shield position. And i agree WWH will unite everyone to stop the Hulkster...

liki mentioned in another thread if tony was appointed SHIELD DIRECTOR he'd be legally barred by his supieriors from acting as iron man:ninja:
