BvS Is BvS setting up Bruce Wayne to be the bridge between all DC superhero films?

Please no teenyboppin buzz words  Especially using such old buzz words. It makes me think there is a creepy older guy thinking he is still "hip"

Haha I recognize that face :woot:

they better not end the final shot of the trinity running together with Batman in the center

I can picture it now... The Trinity running toward the screen Schumacher style with Superman in the center and then when they reach the front, Superman flies off into space and smiles at the camera... credits roll :D

@spock & Tra-El, isn't it alittle bit early to be making predictions about superman being pushed to the side and batman taking over?

After talking to Mark Hughes (variety) I've come to believe that superman will be the 'big bang' of the DCCU in the sense that his appearance breathes life into the world (Batman rediscovering his purpose, Atlanteans and Amazons reveal themselves to the world etc.....) and that everything that happens from now on will be connected to superman in someway.
Needless to say I am certain that superman will be a central player (perhaps being even THE central player) in the universe but BVS's portrayal of the two characters and it's reception will determine which of the two will be the alpha IMO.

Personally though I couldn't give a crap if batman is the founder or the leader of the JL and infact I don't even care if batman beats superman in the fight (if he does maybe it'll stop all the whiney fanboys from calling superman OP).
What superman really needs is a good portrayal on screen (the first since superman the movie IMO) just to get the ball rolling and restore some faith in the character and whether that happens through him being a central character or a supporting one is of little consequence because when the audience warm up to a character they will demand more of it.
I hope this is the case. It would offer a contrast to Marvel (who didn't obviously put the focus on 1 hero, but rather the Avengers as a team), but more importantly it would give the Superman character the spotlight he deserves. He's not my favorite superhero, but with his history he deserves to be the center of the DCCU.

Plus Snyder's Supes made me enjoy the character like never before, so bring on more Cav-El I say!

Is he basically going to be the DC movieverse RDJ ambassador role? Also shouldn't that be Superman's role? It seems like Cavill is being passed up for Affleck to carry this torch around. I'm not sure this is the way to go, but I do understand the status that Affleck carries as a bigger star an established professional in hollywood.

I agree n i have the same thought. BvS is most likely focusing more on batman. So that it can sell the next movie. Even cavill confirmed BvS isn't a sequel of MOS n more on introduction of batman into metropolis world.

expecting to have more movies about the bat in near future .

I don't mind if Batman is the founder of the Justice League, because he is in the comics, but as long as Superman is the leader, as he is in the comics.

As others have said, Batman being in Suicide Squad kind of makes sense because he's always had close ties to that group in the comics. Also, considering that the Joker and Harley are involved, it makes even more sense for him to be there.

As for Batman's involvement in this film, well we'll see on how his screen time is balanced with Superman's.

I still have faith (somewhat...at times.lol) that Superman won't be neutered in favor for Ben's Batman.

I think it makes sense for Batman to be used in the Squad movie. It makes far less sense to have him in Flash, or Wonder Woman. I don't think as of yet that we should say for sure that he's being given the role of being the glue that holds the DCCU together.

Well in the new 52 comics Batman is the Leader.superman is the hulk of the team

I don't have a fear of this. Superman will be a controversial figure as the trailer establishes, which will make him the centrepiece of the story.

There's a strong chance Superman is put before a summit in Washington DC to discuss his role in the world. How good would it be if the government asks our hero to swear allegiance to them, and he refuses. Again not willing to give his identity or personal details, ala the end of MOS.

Clark could also be trying to study Batman sightings despite Perry not seeing value in such a story as well, which would show his growth as a reporter.

well nobody can put butts in seats like the bat, so i don't blame them for trying to work him into any and every cinematic film they can.

'tis the reality of life.

so long as they make it clear that Superman is the leader of the Justice League.

it was a tenuous thing between Cap and Ironman, what with RDJ being the bigger draw. i couldnt put into words how relieved i am that Marvel did the right thing by establishing without a doubt that Cap is the leader. probably the one thing i havent forgiven the X-Men franchise for with what happened with Cyclops and Wolverine.

No, no that should be Superman chasing around batman's villains in SS. In what looks to be the flash back no less...
Some things make sense is what it boils down to but there is always going to be someone waiting to write an ed that paints a different picture.

Having a bvs movie now is like having an avengers movie after thor and the cap movie. Only batman takes very little establishing and WB can get into the crossover ensured revenue buzz films all the earlier.

I am curious if flash will make some sort of appearance in squad given his villain is running around. 'Flash' back perhaps.

His appearing in BvS and SS is not "trying to work him into any and every cinematic film they can."

Indeed in the businessman eyes, batman is the better cash cow than superman. He himself= ironman + thor + cap.

Funny enough, when BvS initially was announced, I thought "cash grab". But now having seen the trailer and thought about it, it makes sense that the fallout of Man of Steel would fuel Batman's obsessions. I doubt we'll see Batman in the WW movie.

Well we shall see. After Suicide Squad will be Wonder Woman and then Justice League. After that the leaguers can stand on their own. Batman really can bridge out any further without it being "unnatural".

i should have written, i dont blame them for working him into every film they can. not sure why i got redundant with cinematic film, but that's not what you were addressing, and the point stands.

"I wouldn't blame them if they worked him into every film they could." Your statement still assumes that they are trying to use Batman as the link between films whenever possible, when that isn't confirmed at all.

I don't think Batman is going to be in any other non-Batman solo film. I think it'll just be Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, Justice League Part 1, Justice League Part 2, and the Batman solo film(s) (which I hope are Court of Owls adaptations).

well, no, my statement is my opinion. it's a cynical one, but it's not based on anything, so of course its not confirmed. i have no idea what warners is doing with batman, i hope they're doing what you suggest (save for the court of owls, i find scott snyder's work sub-par), but putting batman in wonder woman makes good financial sense, so i wouldn't be shocked to see him there or any other dc film. ultimately, i assume affleck has a contract for x-films and will be limited to that, but i doubt the suits would be against beefing that number up, esp if bvs is a monster hit. batman is dc's most popular hero, that's what i'm basing my thoughts on, nothing factual.

I'd love to see them, and when I say them, I mean Superman and Batman show up in more than just the above listed movies. I'd love to see Superman show up in Wonder Woman. That is if any of the film takes place in current time I'd like to see Superman in Flash. Batman in the Cyborg movie. Wonder Woman in Aquaman...hell just mix it up
