BvS The All Things Positive Thread - A place to talk about what you LIKE from BvS so far.

Hey, Billy Zane was the perfect choice for King *****ebag in Journey to Promethea.

A lot of posters wanted Billy Zane, it was a dark time for some unholy reason.

Villains in cbm are either mediocre or poor most of the time so yeah I'd be more worried about how Lex is written than anything else. Honestly I'm not worried about Wonder Woman's characterization, I'm just not. As long as she's a charismatic scene stealer people will be okay with her.

Yeah, I think Lex's characterization is more likely to garner hate than WW's. Lex has a lot more on screen history, so more to compare to.

Anything above "real estate schemes" should already be a win with the GA and the fans IMO. Like Rowsdower said, most of Lex's screen history sucks.

Yeah. The closest we've gotten to a "good" Lex was the one on Smallville, and he wasn't even evil yet. Hackman's Lex in the first Superman film was pretty good, though the whole "refusing the shave his head" thing always bugged me. It's not like Hackman ever had good hair to begin with. Reminds me of that episode of Seinfeld where Elaine tells George he's "clinging to some scraps."

Yeah, but most of Lex's screen history sucks.

This is an excellent point.

Which means it will be ignored by the haters when they b---ch about Jesse not being as good as Hackman.

Never was a fan of Hackman Lex. I'd be totally pissed off if Snyder/Terrio/Goyer and Eisenberg Lex aren't at least better than that version. I understand why that characterization was what it was but I still don't like it.

Yeah, truthfully, I don't like too much about the Reeve Superman movies. Lex is a joke. Lois is kinda obnoxious and the geeky side of Clark is overdone.

Plus, the rewind time through flying thing is absurd. As is Clark thinking it's okay to give up his powers basically just to get laid and then erase her memory of it when he regrets his decision. And these are only major flaws of 1 and 2; 3 and 4 are full of even more problems.

Those movies are a lot more flawed than most people will admit, and I for one am positive about Bv4 because I'm pretty certain none of these things will happen .

I'll just say that MOS is the first Superman film that I truely like.

No problem at all - I was nitpicking a bit there, so don't feel too bad. Forums are a fickle beast sometimes :woot:

In support of the Thread's namesake, here are my top 5 things I like about BvS so far:

1. Cavill returning as "The Man" - he's so great in the role!
2. The Batsuit - it really looks great and I can't wait to see it in motion
3. Affleck as "The Other Man" - wasn't sure at first, but am totally on Team Batfleck for sure.
4. Terrio onboard as writer - they needed some new blood in that role to mix it up a bit.
5. Introduction of new DC characters - being the precursor to JL, I can't wait to see cameos of some of the other members...it's going to be glorious!
Very happy about this. There was some shockingly amateurish writing in MOS.Brilliant ideas childsih exceution

What in God's name is this? A positive thread?!

The end is nigh! :oldrazz:

Anyways....

The Good:

Cav-el: Perfect for his role in MOS and I hope will be again.
Affleck: I wasn't a supporter at first, but somehow, I have come to see him as endearing. His recent work has been quality and I believe he will continue the trend.
Batfleck and Cav-el suits: Love them. So eager to see them woven into some equally beautiful imagery.
Batmobile: Very happy with that hybrid of rugged and stylish.
Terrio: With a Goyer-only script, I knew roughly what to except. I have an idea of what flaws/weaknesses would likely still be present with his script. That doesn't mean I hate him, I just know that he has certain limitations. This time...we have someone new and it seemingly raises the bar on what is possible. Exciting!
Supporting cast: It seems pretty stellar so far. I'm particularly excited for Adams, Lane, Malone, Irons, Hunter.
Lex: He's in this movie and he won't be the Donner version. I welcome a new take on the character and believe Eisenberg is capable.

Yeah, I'm really excited about Malone in particular. I hope she is playing Barbara Gordon; I think she'd be perfect for that.

tbh Billy Zane would've been a good Lex. he's a good enough actor, it's just that his career is mostly b movies at this point, and most thought that needed a bigger name for Lex

i didn't want Zane as Lex but he could've done a good job.

I don't mind Hackman's Lex. It hasn't aged well but it was good for its time.

Positives:

- MOS cast returning
- Superman's new suit
- Ben as Batman
- Batfleck's suit
- TERRIO ON THE SCREENPLAY!!!!
- Ray as Vic
- Momoa as Arthur (if he's in it)
- Irons as Alfred
- Malone as possibly Robin
- Ezra as Flash (if he's in it)
- Scoot
- Batmoblie
- Wonder Woman's suit

I wanna put Snyder as director but I'm mixed. I don't think he's bad but I don't think he's great. I'm netural.
