Is DC Entertainment dropping the ball by placing their TV universe on the CW?

AMC is bland and safe?

To answer the question, no they didn't drop the ball. Flash and Arrow are successful programs.

If Warner Brothers can now build up The CW as a legitimate network that will be quite the consolation prize. It's currently very far behind ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox.

The Ultra Bland safe treatment AMC gave to Mad Men, Breaking Bad and the Walking Dead? Yeah... That would be a shame if Preacher ended up like those series nobody ever cared about.

Preacher is nothing like Breaking Bad or Mad Men. It's got some of the most heinous acts ever committed in comics. The overt anti-religious content alone is more controversial and blasphemous than anything ever done on AMC. Not to mention all the weird sex stuff in there. Just the cursing in one issue of Preacher will make the AMC execs **** their pants and force changes. We're already seeing that with all the reports coming out. Jesse in a love triangle with two women, taking place in one town the entire time(cost cutting measures from the cheap higher-ups on the network)

Yes. They're afraid of offending the advertisers. Didn't cut off Rick's hand. Completely avoided the rape scenes. Refused to do the brutal torture scene between Michonne and the Governor. They didn't even have the balls to let Rick say "****ing with" in the Season 4 finale. "They're screwing with the wrong people"...who talks like that? The goofy zombie kills are the only extreme stuff on that network - they shy away from any real violence towards people. Preacher doesn't have a horde of zombie so I'm not sure how they're going to get away with that here.

I still have to laugh at the fact that the graphic imagery in Walking Dead is A-OK, but heaven forbid a character drops the word "****" every now and then.

The American film/television rating system needs an overhaul.

darn, guess we'll have to get our rape porn somewhere else?

I hope we do see green Arrow in the DCU, and it will hopefully be with a much better actor than Amell.

Also gawd forbid a nipple or any evil dirty sexual stuff comes on screen
xD

I think the ratings depend on the sensitivities of a certain population, but one can say that censorship like this perpetuates the sensitivities.

Given the success of The Flash, I'm going to say that there is no problem having shows on CW.

I really want to start the flash soon. I told myself I was going to wait until I finish Arrow, but I'm beginning to lose interest in Arrow.

Season 1 of The Flash was so good.

Sure...

Which makes it even more comical(and depressing) that a crappy network like AMC is doing Preacher. It's 2015 and we can't even drop F bombs on cable tv? Even IFC doesn't censor curse words. It's pathetic the way some of these stations pander to bible belt conservatives,

Yeah, after this season of the Flash, I have no problem with any DC character being on the CW.

Sure, some of the more edgy Vertigo characters should go to other areas of the TV landscape, but the core DC characters definitely should stay on CW, especially as it'll allow for more crossovers. Disappointed that Supergirl will be on CBS, I'm sure it'll hurt the quality of the show.
