The CW up for sale?

They think the ratings are low because of the demographic? Good luck.

But definitely interested to see what it means for all the shows not in their final season. I assume since WBD/CBS still have some ownership they'll pay for select shows. Probably go down to a total of 4-5 shows?
I’m thinking the WB shows that pull In good ratings for the network are safe. Superman & Lois, All American, Kung Fu and Stargirl ( hopefully) are safe from the chopping board. With WBD and Paramount having their streaming service be the priority for those respective services we are definitely going to see fewer output from those two so 4-5 shows sounds about right. They will continue to produce new content so who knows what that number will be. Yeah I definitely don’t think the young demographic was the problem though.

Superman and Lois and The Flash are in their top three highest rated series with All American being #1. With Mark Pedowitz still going to continue as Chairman & CEO after the sale I'm hoping that the CW, WBD and Greg Berlanti as well as some new voices continue to produce DC content for the network but more Superman and Lois and Less of stuff that looks like Gotham Knights (which I'm hoping will at least be mildly enjoyable but won't know till the first episode comes out).

But as we know the Arrowvese is done after season 9 of The Flash but with a rumor that they will continue in a new shared universe world tying together S&L and the still in development Justice U I guess really its just wait and see.

The average CW viewer is 58 years old? What are they watching? Lol

I wasn't aware that anyone who was over the age of 40 when The CW launched even knows of its existence so that's news to me. :o

Yup, making it a Fox News channel that doesn't require a cable subscription.

“So we’re not as robust as we were in the past, but still very much there,” Pedowitz said. “We started with one — this was ‘Arrow’ 10 years ago — we have now moved to create a whole bunch of superheroes. And we’re proud of it and we plan to stay in that business. No matter what the outcome is, with any event of sale or no sale. I think the Warner side realizes the value of having these properties up. DC Comics realizes the value of what it does to their marketability, in terms of what these franchises are.”

So that bodes well for the future of Stargirl and Superman and Lois but we’ll see.

TheCW canceling it when it was a ratings winner...made no sense.
Teenage girl demo was the future for them at that time... Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and Smallville. They knew what they were doing. It was just a stupid idea.

Wow..im surprised this sounds more promising than whats going over at WBD
Yeah as of right now I’m way more interested in what the CW is doing then what’s happening at WBD. It sounds like this new era for the CW might allow the network to grow. I’m just hoping it stays inclusive but with Mark Pedowitz still around as Chairman and CEO I can see that It might.

Well that puts the DC shows back on the cutting board.
At this point if the new CW continues with any of the DC content it’ll be Superman and Lois.

The changes arrive as Nexstar CEO Perry Sook and newly installed CW president Dennis Miller (no, not that one) plan to make the network profitable by 2025 with programming that targets a broad audience of adults 18-49. (The CW’s median age on its linear network is 58, but the age of its digital audience is late 20s to early 30s.) Sources say Nexstar plans to focus on The CW’s linear schedule and become more affiliate-friendly. Sook and Miller are said to be fans of such broad CW fare as Jared Padalecki’s Walker franchise, Greg Berlanti’s Superman & Lois and the family-focused Kung Fu.

I’m glad they made it a little more clear that the liner demo is 58 and the digital demo is 20’s-30’s range so it actually makes more sense but I’m 33 so I guess I’m one of the few round that age that still watch’s the liner CW.
