Ryan Reynolds brought on Tim Miller and Fox didn't green light the film for like 6 years. They were calling the studio over and over to try and make it happen. These guys had to use their own money in numerous scenarios, even when it was greenlit. Fox studios just doesn't know this stuff, and needs somebody who does in an overseer position. The version of Doctor Doom in Fant4stic should have never even been allowed to get studio approval, especially after F4 and F42. Kinberg had a big hand in helping get Deadpool made as a producer, but the studio itself just didn't understand the character, and Kinberg himself makes some poor creative choices. Ultimately without Reynolds actively pursuing the property, not giving up even after they had said no it just wouldn't have happened. The confidence or knowledge in properties/characters isn't there like Marvel. That's an issue.
Now both of these studios have gone through issues rather it's the Director switch up in Ant-Man, the issues on Thor 2, the Director switch up in Deadpool 2, the problems with Gambit or the mess that was Fant4stic. **** happens and will continue too. But these are all serials and won't stop. Doesn't it make sense that Fox gets a grasp on this asap so they are confident where the money is going? If they can't then where will that lead them?
If Fox want's a big list of X-Men IP's they have no choice but to start working together a little bit more and realizing a few things about their characters that we have not seen represented on the screen. I'm not saying these films need to be or replicate Marvel studio films, they clearly need to stand out and have their own identity. But they need someone like Feige one way or the other to oversee and know what they are doing. Things are gonna get complicated soon.
