God gave us choices that could lead to suffering, therefore it IS his fault.
no, we make the choices...

A drunk driver hits a car and kills a person, which causes suffering... God didn't hit the car, the driver did. He hit it because he was impaired from drinking too much. He chose to drink, so therefore it is his fault, not God's...

The Jewish holocaust caused incredible suffering, yet it was not God's fault, It was Hitler's. He hated the Jews, and he chose to try and have them extreminated. It was his fault that the Holocaust happened because he chose to cause so much pain and suffering to that race, not God.

Is it a gun shop's fault if someone who perfectly legally bought a gun kills someone with it?

also, is it God's fault for the person who shot the gun? God didn't pull the trigger, the man did.

Doesn't God have the ability to destroy Hell? Why would he allow it to exist if he didn't agree with it's purpose?

To give us the opportunity to learn from our mistakes and rise above it. BTW, I think hell is more of a state of mind, or a frequency of negative energy that is returned to us through what is known as karma, a purely mechanical device to keep the universe in order. At least that is my mind's understanding of it. I might sound crazy, but dang it, that's what I think.

Who's bashing religion?

Not you. The person who was saying it was a fairy tale and blah blah being condescending.

he uses it as a choice to make while we live...

If you dont believe in Him, you reject Him and your choice would be to suffer in Hell. You believe in Him, and you don't suffer.

It's all about choice, and He gives you that choice for your entire life.

DAMN YOU kakrot069!!!!!

Sorry, just had to say it:D

Yes, yes it is. The gun shop made that murder easier.

God not only presents us with weapons he also makes us capable of murder. Then once it happens he gets pissed. Why? You wouldn't put a rattlesnake in the same room with a toddler then get mad at the rattlesnake when it bites the toddler, would you? It's to be expected.

If God doesn't want us to make the "wrong" choice then he shouldn't give us a choice.

God did not invent the weapon, man invented the weapon.

He gives us that choice because He unconditionally loves us.

would you give a dog the choice to pee on your furniture? especially if that choice could result in the dog being punished for an eternity?

the animal doesn't know better, and I can teach the animal to not pee on the furniture.

second of all, animals don't have a soul, so for them, when they die they don't go anywhere, they're dead.

The difference is, an animal won't go out of it's way to harm another being. It'll only do it for defense or for food. Not for pleasure, or revenge, but to help it in it's life.

EDIT: You're just the type of person who would sue McDonald's cause their burgers made you fat, aren't you?

I don't believe God exists but according to the bible god tortures you for an eternity simply for not thinking the bible is true.

that's not just conditional, it's downright brutal, cruel, and wrong. he's the like the butcher of earth. those are the kinds of things saddam hussein did to his people, but with longer lasting punishments.

I don't believe in God, but will you ever give your child the ability to break one of your rules? only to correct them afterwards? It's called free will. maybe he expects us to learn the right way for ourselves, otherwise life isn't worth anything.

being that the Christian God divides people into saved and no saved, I'd say conditional.

What Bible did you read that in?

ummm, the Christain bible. Why would you ask that kind of question? not believing is blasphemy, which is the only unforgiveable sin. Jesus said he would rather that person never be born so they wouldn't have to spend an eternity in hell.

Umm...please give a verse, a chapter, or something.

No it's not.
Btw, Suicide is the 2nd only unforgivable sin.

I have read it more than once. but I am sorry, all the time on the itnernet people doubt me, about what their own bible says, then I go searching for hours and prove it to them, and I get suckered into it every time. NO WAY!

you can look yourself if you want. the fastest way is to download a copy of the bible, and then use the EDIT/Search/find key words/ option to search for stuff.

It also says in the old testament that a slave owner is permitted to beat his slave as long as it can walk again in three days. It also said in the old testament that anybody who didn't believe the bible was to be put to death, as were gays, and many other kinds of people.

I absolutely am not searching for where it says these things.

I guess I'll search, but I am too lazy right now. It's 3 a.m. where I live. Too tired. :(

I was just offering that as an explanation as to why a God might choose not to run everything for us like some kind of dictator president.
