is it possible that clint goes back to being hawkeye?

Giving Hawkeye guns is a bad bad bad idea. Why? Ultimates 3. Thats all i havta say. lol

The guns weren't the problem with Hawkeye in Ultimates 3, the problem was he was an out of character suicidal jerk. I actually like ultimate Hawkeye in vol. 2 and the whole "anything can be a weapon" approach.

I hope he becomes Hawkeye again soon. The Ronin character is just boring. :o

Also, bow & arrow characters are awesome random havok....Hawkeye and Green Arrow are two of the better characters of each respective company.

I find them both completely useless. Neither has any real powers and is far outclassed by any teammate they're paired with (with the possible exception of ant-man lol)

Amen to that.

That sort of just makes him Bullseye with slightly less sociopathy, though.

Or the main character in WANTED, who Mark Millar also wrote (he "created" Ultimate Hawkeye).

Oh yeah, him too. I suppose we have to credit him with not making Ultimate Hawkeye look like Eminem, at least.

Hawkeye has flat-out beaten She-Hulk, and run circles around Iron Man. He was the last man standing in the Avengers' battle with The Collector, and in effect, saved the entire team. He led The West Coast Avengers.

He's hardly "useless".

Ant-Man beat the living crap out of an entire roster of Avengers, including Captain America, Black Panther, and Vision (just to name a few)...

Clint should and probably will become Hawkeye again and the guise of Ronin should always change. Every so often somebody new should take on the guise of Ronin, that is the best way to use Ronin IMO.

Either way Clint as Hawkeye or Ronin should always have a Bow and Arrow.

Exactly.

Anyone know what issues those events are from?

The thing that bugs me is his lack of a bow and arrows. Ronin, Hawkeye, Goliath, whatever you want to call him, Clint needs a bow and arrows. That's a defining part of the character. People keep maneuvering him into positions where he wields a bow and arrows, too. Just give him his own set again and be done with it, for Christ's sake. Ninjas used bows and arrows, so it doesn't even conflict with the Ronin theme.

I could definitely be down for that for the immediate future. Past that maybe, but definitely for now.

Read Avengers #174 and see for yourself.

I'm talking in an actual believable sense, not in 70s and 80s ******ed comic sense (there's a reason I don't collect issues past around 2000, they were just too silly for me to read. Fine when I was kid, but I can't bear them now).

Comics nowadays are expected to have more maturity to them (in general) then they did a in the past decades. Having a hero with whimsical gadget arrows is ridiculous, especially since guns can do everything arrows can but better (as I previously stated).

And I'm sure if I could see how exactly Hawkeye was capable of defeating Iron man or outlasting all the other avengers I'd have a great time laughing my butt off at the ridiculousness of it (especially of Thor was around at the time, that'd be the cherry on top).

And is this really the Ant-Man persona or was he also using his giant man abilities? Actually, scratch that, either way it's ridiculous unless he was in giant form and surprise attacked them.

Right. The modern believability of characters who reset time by making deals with the devil and become so angry they can touch intangible things and can warp reality on a whim. I could go out, take in a nice, healthy dose of radiation, and do any of those things myself.

Wow, did you just bring up OMD as an example of something you consider acceptable in comics. If so, please go hang yourself (okay, don't really do that cuz I'd feel bad).

No, I brought up OMD as an example of how modern comics are just as ridiculous as older comics. Certainly more ridiculous than a guy being able to ricochet arrows.

God this guys opinions are like GAH on crack.

Clint Barton should go back to being Sundance.
Or Dreadknight.

I believe it's a film festival. Or a kid. One of the two. Or both?
