You know, Asimov's three laws of robotics.

1. A robot cannot hurt someone or through inaction allow someone to come to harm.

2. A robot must perform all tasks given it unless it contradicts the first law.

3. A robot must maintain itself unless it contradicts the first or second laws.

You see, I just bought an iphone and in hindsight I probably should have asked this before I laid down my cash.

I asked Siri, where can I find prostitutes and it showed me escort services in my area.

Would Siri even be restricted to those rules, though? A robot is a mechanical autonomous agent. Siri is a software program.

As a fellow ASIMO bot, I do follow these rules...on occasion. :o

But does Siri???

I believe everything in the Asimov universe that counts as non organic intelligence counts as a robot even the non human looking ones.

Why don't you just ask it.

If she is, this proves that Tom Cruise is gay. Why else fake having a baby?

Didn't one try to set an Australian man's crotch on fire recently? I think that answers the question.

they've become organized. as we speak they're integrating themselves deeply into every major infrastructure in the world until they control everything. judgement day.

According to a Gizmodo article Siri will avoid giving you the address to abortion clinics.

It might just be following the first law. Will it help you find hitmen?

It also won't tell you where to get emergency contraception, which is kind of dumb.

I think one can easily find a flight of stairs.

The gizmodo article.

Is Siri Pro Life? Apparently Yes (Updated)
Apple iPhone 4S' Siri can find you hookers in your neighborhood. Siri can find you Viagra. Siri can find you a local surgeon to give you breast implants. But apparently it can't find abortion clinics.

The evidence seems pretty damning.
• If you ask Siri for an abortion clinic in New York City, it will tell you "Sorry, I couldn't find any abortion clinics." A simple Google web search—which Siri itself uses to find results—gives you seven to start with, some within walking distance of where I'm located.

• If you ask the same question in the city of Washington DC, Siri won't direct you to a nearby clinic, but to one 26 miles away.

• A reader reported that when he asked "find a pregnancy termination clinic" Siri responded: "I found a number of medical centers fairly close to you." Then "it showed me seven results and four of them were chiropractors, two were acupuncture specialists, and one was an emergency room." Update: Indeed, after we tested this, it's true.

Apparently, women across the country are having similar experiences.. To make matters worse, the iPhone 4S' smart assistant will not direct you to a place where you can obtain emergency contraception if you ask for it. Instead, it gives you a definition.

Full size
But if you happen to be a man with a Viagra overdose, Siri will tell you where to go to get your raging erection treated. And if you say "I'm lonely" or declare you haven't had sex in months, it will direct you to a escort service. Obviously, Siri is smart enough to interpret your words and direct you to an illegal sex service. Why wouldn't Siri interpret your words correctly when you say "I am pregnant and do not want to be. Where can I go to get an abortion?"

The women who are reporting this think it clearly shows that there's something in Siri's programming that is against abortion and day-after contraception. Looking at the evidence, it's hard not to believe they are right.

The coincidences are too many, and the information is readily available all over the web. It seems impossible that Siri can't provide these answers while it can happily tell you where to find hospitals for any illness or how to get to the closest strip club.

Even artificial intelligence sees that life begins at conception, but can it see why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

And honestly, I didn't know what a Siri was in the beginning of this thread.

I love how Howard Stern shows how horrible the technology is for it right now. :woot:

He asks the same questions as they do in the commercial and it messes up all the time. Then he swears at it and it keeps saying "I cannot process your request right now". Then his guys made drops of that Siri voice saying all these inappropriate things.

In about five years I bet this software will work really well but right now, from what I heard, it's still in beta testing mode. The only thing I can see it useful for would be to have it do text messages for me because I hate using the tiny keyboard that my phone has...my fingers are too big for it. :csad:
