Is the PS3 'too 'spensive' - LIST OF CANCELLED GAMES.

WhatsHisFace said:
Zenien and THWIP are actually fighting over Wardevil? That game has 5.4 written all over it. Well, if it doesn't get cancelled.

That's funny considering how every Xbot and his mother was rallying Wardevil on account of how amazing it is going to be and the graphics as an example of 360 pwnage when they all just assumed it was a 360 exclusive.

Assassins creed.....

the official site says just PS3.

I haven't seen any official confirmation (it wasn't running on a 360 at E3 like say TXB wants you to belive it was a PS3 PC Devkit). A lot of unofficial rumblings, and Peter Moore saying it was coming to the 360 about almost 2 years back (I think). Granted he also made it sound like the 360 was geting edxclusive GTA content, and that turned out to be a lie, who's to say how the AC situation changed from when Peter said that.

Chances are good that it's a timed exclusive (3 months? 6 months? 1 year?) for the PS3, or an exclusive, but based on Ubisoft history it's most likely a timed exclusive. I can't see them not porting it to every platform under the sun, unless Sony has negotiated an exclusivity deal.

2 reasons.

There's alot of Xbox fanboys here.

and it's just TOO EASY to bash the PS3, everytime I even try looking forward to it Sony does something stupid.

Twas confirmed at the IDEF 2006 that it would be coming to 360 and PC

TXB wants you to believe it was running on a 360 because it was. Peter Moore said GTA360 would be getting exclusive content via live because it is. That is all.

Not according to Rockstar.

TXB isn't a reputable newsite anyway, I don't see why even you are trying to say they have credibility.

Not according to Ubisoft themselves, it was a small little known Xbox fansite that broke that alledged news and the others latched to it.

Ubisoft: Assassin's Creed Still PS3 Exclusive
by Greg Bergen

Recent controversy regarding whether or not Assassins Creed will go multi-platform has once again been debunked by Ubisoft.

French site xbox-gamer.net reported that during the Interactive Digital Entertainment Festivale (IDEF) 2006, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin's Creed was currently under development for Xbox 360 and PC. However, in response to the reports from the French website, a UK Community Manager going by the name of UbiRazz has been locking the speculative threads saying, "Ubisoft have confirmed no such thing. Assassin's Creed will come on PlayStation 3 and at this time, no other platform has been confirmed."

With this latest piece of multi-platform evidence debunked, Assassin's Creed is still labeled as a PS3 exclusive by many. It is only fair to say that Ubisoft has never made an official statement regarding whether or not the game will be exclusive, just that it's in development for the PlayStation 3. Ubisoft has not changed their stance on this heavily debated subject. Since Ubisoft does have close ties with Microsoft, it's quite possible Xbox 360 owners could see a version of Assassin's Creed later down the road. For the time being, however, PS3 fans can still hope that Assassin's Creed will be an exclusive.

Because I know that you would consider IGN a "reputable news site", and that IGN and TXB share all the same sources and such, being the same company and all. They're extremely reliable, moreso than most, and if they didn't have "Xbox" in their name and you were forced to just accept the things they say instead of writing them off as fansite drivel on the name alone, you'd be singing a different tune. And Peter Moore would not have said "this content is exclusive" if they had not confirmed that there indeed would be content that WAS exclusive, do you honestly think Peter Moore just walks out on stage and makes **** up? He's not Ken Kutaragi Zenien. Microsoft is not Sony. Teamxbox is not Gaming Age. Get a grip.

From what I heard, the game is almost completely different than what the trailers showed.

Cool, I never saw that

Is it even announced yet that AC is coming to xbox?

No, the 'official word' is simply 'PS3 Release'. Its a load of crap since joystiq recently played an X360 build of the game.

Its kind of stupid that they cant announce it but I guess thats what Sony paid for :o

Uh, Yes it is.

GTA IV to Feature Exclusive Marketplace Content

Microsoft and Rockstar Games are proud to announce a strategic alliance to provide exclusive episodic content for Xbox Live®, giving the community ever-expanding gameplay experiences that simply aren't possible on other consoles.

"Through Xbox Live, we have a unique opportunity to reach out to our audience in new ways," said Sam Houser, executive producer and founder of Rockstar Games. "This strategic alliance allows us to craft experiences that fully leverage the on-demand distribution power and sheer size of Xbox Live."

"Few franchises have had the profound impact on our industry as Grand Theft Auto," said Peter Moore, corporate vice president of the Interactive Entertainment Business in the Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft. "Grand Theft Auto IV in high definition on Xbox 360? We couldn't be more excited to have the title on our platform from day one.”

The agreement to distribute exclusive Rockstar Games content via Xbox Live highlights the publishing community's growing desire to feed gamers' insatiable appetite for downloading new high-definition experiences and playing online. Since Xbox Live launched, fans have logged nearly 1.8 billion hours playing online and have downloaded more than 18 million pieces of content in just the past six months.

Grand Theft Auto IV, the next-generation console debut of the genre-defining Grand Theft Auto franchise, is expected to be in stores for Xbox 360™ on October 16, 2007, in North America.

Thsi is not an 'ANTI-PS3 thread'. Im so sorry you think people are out to get you and your beloved PS3 :o

I made the thread because its ****ing VALID. Developers are avoiding the PS3 because of buy in costs for gamers and because of very high development costs.

Im sorry oif that upsets you.

I can't help but notice the fact that every time Ubisoft "debunks" rumors of AC coming out on XBOX360, that they never ever actually say "Assassin's Creed will be a PS3-only game." or "We are not making a XBOX360 version of the game." It's always like the quote above which really says nothing more than "The only system we've announced AC for so far is PS3." It's like the "PS3 games won't cost you $100 each, but don't be mad if they're above the normal price of $50-60 for any other game on any other console."

If it isn't coming out on XBOX360, why haven't they ever just come out and said "It's not coming out on XBOX360"?

It's a safe bet that it's coming, but the 360 version at E3 was debunked a while ago.

I know you like to ignore them taking sources like inquirer as fact, and then juicing articles up with things that aren't included in the original release which is more often then not totally unsubstanciated (and they have done this three times in the past year), heck they're don't even bother to verify their sources, all this led to the big GPU embarassment, among others. You don't even look at their news page by your own admission, so don't pretend like you followed the happenings.

But I know you don't like to believe that TXB has seperate people behind the news devision then IGN, so stay in your own little world.

As for his GTA gets exclusive content, it's a bit closer to the truth that so does Sony, confirmed on 1Up Yours several months back.

As for GTA...

Episodic content for the PS3 release has not been ruled out. On being asked whether episodic content will be exclusive to the X-Box, Peter Moore, head of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business division, is quoted as saying "You'd have to ask them that. They're not going to tell me what they're doing. I don't know".
Moore didn't say "Sony will not get content" in the first place, he only said "Microsoft WILL get content". Big difference there, rendering the whole argument that he somehow lied null and void anyways.

As for his GTA gets exclusive content, it's a bit closer to the truth that so does Sony, confirmed on 1Up Yours several months back.
Three times? Link them. Prove them wrong. GPU Embarrassment? Where? When? Prove that any of this happened, please. And I sure hope this "GPU Embarassment" isn't them saying "The 360 gpu is good" and your sony buddies saying "lol no it isn't" or something like that. So please, provide an instance of Teamxbox doing any of this. If it's so common place and widely known, surely this will not be a difficult task. And by the way, the "Inquirer" that they use is this, a reliable source, not the tabloid :o

As for the people behind the news division being different, that's great, I'm sure whoever said otherwise has learnt their lesson. That whoever is not me. I said they and IGN share the same SOURCES, and they do.

EDIT: Nevermind about sources for the GPU stuff, I found one for you.
http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/9132/PlayStation-3-GPU-More-Powerful-than-GeForce-7800/
So, basically, The Inquirer (which despite your unfounded beliefs based entirely on this, is an accurate source, everyone makes mistakes) said something. Teamxbox wrote an article that said "this is what the Inquirer said", which was factually accurate, as the site did indeed say that and all comparisons and comments made thereafter were also accurate relative to the information given. And when the information was proven to be a mistake, they corrected it, despite the ease of sweeping it under the rug and leaving everyone laughing (moreso) at the PS3s hardware. You're right, what was I thinking, what a bunch of liars and spin doctors...
