Is this a continuation of the past movies?

I was just wondering if this was a whole new restart of the franchise or a continuation of the live action films. I'd rather it be the former because this seems like it's really close to the comics (the art style anyway). Do we even know yet? I figured that at comic-con something like this would be announced but I haven't heard anything.

The original three are probably vague history

 :p

I heard it was a continuation. But I could be wrong.

Munroe says its an extension of the movies and they will reference the other movies.

They won't deny that the third movie happens.

I'm fairly confident this will be worth watching, then. THATS RESPECT.

I assume it will be like Superman Returns in the sense that it does aknowledge the previous films, but doesn't dwell on them to heavily.

I've read that it follows the first two movies.

I got the feeling that it will recognise the three previous movies plus other adventures.

It will clearly follow the first film. Aspects of the second one will be referenced. The third one will not be mentioned (but not be contradicted either).

So in other words it follows the first film.

In the AICN of Kevin Munroe, as well as past interviews with the Producer and Peter Laird, the sequels are bashed routinely. Don't expect too many references from those films.

At Comic Con, Munroe specifically said that they won't deny the third movie happened. He also said to look for props and references from the other movies throughout the film.

Part 3 will probably be the one Turtles movie that will be referenced the least I believe.

Three is terrible but it's still part of the movie-verse.

Don't take it so seriously. Three was it's own story, it's not going to shackle this movie.

Quite frankly I like that they aren't trying to re-write everything and start everything from scratch. Like UltimateJustin says, that's respect.

I don't see any mentions of them traveling back in time hurting the new movie.

Exactly. They might not even mention that. We might just see the time travel device from movie 3 somewhere in the background. Which I think would be cool.

^ That would be cool. It's subtle, but it's there.
